  1. Currently when i use my desktop it will randomly freeze and disconnect all connected devices e.g. mouse, keyboard and headset will all lose power. If I unplug the devices nothing changes and they continue to not work. I have to hold power and restart each time this happens, It happens at random intervals and more often when the PC is warm/hot leading me to believe it is overheating but not shutting off and freezing instead? Apart from the basic first steps of troubleshooting has anyone encountered this problem or have any suggestions? I do not use the PC very often and it just randomly started one day. Cant remember my exact specs, heres the best i can give. i7 7700 32gb DDR4 ASUS motherboard ASUS FE 1080ti Samsung EVO SSD WD HDD
  2. @Princess Cadence I have now, it works a lot better but im still not seeing the power i would have expected to regain. Maybe 80-90% of what i had prior.
  3. Playing Rainbow 6 and PUBGs over the weekend 4k at max settings at a comfortable 60+ FPS in both with R6 hitting 100+ at times, loaded up my PC yesterday with all games including the two mentioned dropping to <20 FPS and unplayable. I updated to 385.41 which claimed optimization for PUBGs. I have reset my 3D settings, and rolled back to a stable July Nvidia driver release and managed to get back about 60-80% of my "power" with lower settings. Any suggestions? PC Specs: i7 7700 Asus Strix Z270F 32gb Corsair DDR4 960 EVO Pro 512gb SSD. Asus 1080Ti Founders Edition.
  4. When i turned on my PC today everything felt a little slow and janky, i decided to reboot and open up The Witcher 3. As soon as the game loaded i saw the FPS was stuck at 30, i closed the game and opened up display settings and saw that my screen had defaulted back to 30 Hertz with no 60 Hertz option. I rebooted again thinking something had hang but still again it was stuck at 30, after restoring to defaults in Nvidia control panel i set a custom resolution to 4k/60 Hertz. Windows display settings now has the 60 Hertz option back but I'm a little confused as to why it reverted to 30 with no 60 option. Any clue why? Im running a GTX 1080 Ti with latest firmware and a display cable that can support 4k/60 hertz to my monitor.
  5. I only had the PC for a few months before i got rid of it, can safely say i will be coming this new PC for a times to come.
  6. Thanks @Corsair Blake, i think the peace of mind is worth the upgrade in the future
  7. Im thinking i just want it more so i can add the "k" onto my build list haha
  8. This is the second time ive done this, my last build was a hexacore i7, 32gb of DDR3 and a AMD 295x2 which none of was cheap 3-4 years ago
  9. Yeah @Shiv78 and @DrMikeNZ i didn't think i would see enough of a performance increase for the extra $$ and time required for the CPU swap. Thanks for confirming my thoughts
  10. First up unless you are going to SLI in the future an 850W PSU is over kill, my similar system with a 1080Ti would maybe use half of that... Next point with your storage configuration will you be putting programs on the SSD or WD black? You could save money and get a 128gb ssd for boot and a cheaper PSU to make room for a monitor or two now depending on what you going to get. With your case you could a mid range tower which depending what you go will save you both space and money... If you are unsure about your build you could run your hardware through a site like partpicker, it will give you a power usage estimate and will also tell you about any known incompatibilities.
  11. Basically i was given an i7 7700 to start off my new PC build, the parts list was meant to be quite modest with me spending only about $1000(AUD) but that was quickly forgotten. I ended up with an Asus Strix Z270F, 32gb of Corsair Vengeance, a 512gb Samsung 960 evo pro M2 ssd, and a GTX 1080 Ti Founders edition plus the rest of the required. My question is would it be worth me selling my i7 7700 and buying the K edition for the OC ability and faster base clock speed? I should mention the PC will be used for photo editing, small amounts of video editing and 4k gaming.
  12. Awesome thanks for the feedback, i will hit up their sales team to see what their policy is on leaks
  13. I've used a few AIO CPU coolers in the past and have always been happy with noise level and cooling but now i have my cooler sitting above a nice new GTX 1080 Ti. Currently i have a Thermaltake 240 RGB Riing AIO but im not super happy with their stance on warranty. So from personal experience or from what you've seen who is the best company as far as warranty? Its useless to me if it breaks and leaks over my GPU and they only agree to replace the AIO.
