  1. Thanks for the tips guys. However, I probably wasn't clear. The €2000 does not include the GPU, so the cost for the GPU will come on top of this €2000 budget.
  2. Budget (including currency): €2000 (Can go a little higher if needed) Country: Belgium Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I run Windows for my main OS, which is used for gaming, productivity and day to day stuff. But I also have a hand full of Linux vm's I use for development purposes which I also use daily. My current PC is exactly 4 years old since the last upgrade, running a Ryzen 7 1700X, 16gb of DDR4 ram and a gtx 1060 6gb. I will be taking the 1TB m.2 drive out of this PC and put it in the new PC, so a motherboard with 2 m.2 slots would be required. The budget for this build is not including the GPU for now. However, I will probably buy a new GPU soon, so any tips on what would fit this build are welcome. The plan is to have a double (possibly triple) 1440p monitor setup in the future, currently have a double 1080p setup. I have already been looking at the 3070 ti which currently seems to be available for around €1000. Edit: To be clear, the €2000 budged does not include the GPU, the cost of the GPU will come on top of this €2000 budget. The hardest part for me is the motherboard because I'm not really sure what's important or what to watch out for. I don't care about WiFi as I have gigabit ethernet through the entire house. My current parts list is as follows: I would be ordering the ram kit twice for a total of 64gb of ram, which should put me at around €2000. I know some parts of this might be a bit overkill, but I'd like the PC to last a few years again. Any feedback on this build would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Thanks for the tips, I just ordered a GTX 1060.
  4. I'm building a new gaming/allround computer with a ryzen cpu, but now I also need a new graphics card. The one I have been wanting for some months is an RX 580, but the cheapest I can find it to get it in Belgium is about €450... So I thought about getting an GTX 1060 6G. I heard the performance is a little lower than the RX 580, but the price is about €100 less and it is in stock. My question is, knowing that I have a 1080p monitor with a refresh rate of 60hz, would I even notice the differences between these cards? And, are both cards future proof for a few years?
  5. But the one I chose is cheaper, so why is this one better for my needs?
  6. So I'm building a new gaming/all-round pc, I have already chosen to put in a Ryzen 1700X, 16gigs of ram, an MSI Gaming GTX 1060 6G and an M2 disc. But I'm not sure about the motherboard I should buy. I might not want to overclock directly, but I want to keep my options open in the future so X370 would probably be the best option for the chipset. I'm not interested in ram overclocking. The motherboard I had my eyes on right now is the GIGABYTE AORUS GA-AX370-Gaming K5, but I'm not sure if this is overkill or even too less. I read some things about looking out for shared PCIe lanes with M2 discs, but I have been out of the loop for some time and not sure if this is a problem with this motherboard. Thanks for helping me out with this.
  7. How about the bundles with the cpu and motherboard? Any word on those? I hoped the prices would be a bit lower for those because they don't include the discount on the Samsung monitor which I don't need anyway.
  8. I pre-ordered a rx 580 at amazon. If I don't get one by the end of the month, I'm getting a 1060.
  9. How about the AMD Vega, would it be worth waiting for these? Although it might also be another month before we see them popping up.
  10. By a proper upgrade do you mean a 1070 or 1080? But I suppose these are overkill for 1080p gaming?
  11. Nah, I don't think I will be buying new monitors anytime soon. And even If I would I probably won't go directly for 4k, maybe 1440p.
  12. For the moment I only have a 1080p monitor. Not that I plan on buying a new one, but I like to plan ahead.
  13. Doesn't the difference in vram between the rx580 and gtx1060 change anything?
  14. I'm currently building a new pc and I have chosen to put a Ryzen R7 1070X in it as a cpu. I wanted to put a rx 580 8gb in my computer, however, these aren't in stock anywhere in the world. So my question is: Is it worth waiting for the rx 580 to be in stock or should I buy a GTX 1060?
  15. But is it ok to choose more cores/threads over single core frequency? That's actually the biggest reason I'm not sure what to buy.
