  1. Thanks for all the replies. GIGABYTE M27Q seems the main one for £330 but I also can get this one. MSI Optix G273QF for £315. How do they compare?
  2. This looks like a winner but what is the difference between this and the G27QC?? (is it just the extra 5hz?) Also noticed its IPS compared to VA. I assume IPS is better aslong as its 1ms response? The rest are good choices but the links are for US and im in the UK so the price is changing drastically lol. I don't mind spending a little over £300 as long as its worth the extra. Right now im still rocking a RX580 Nitro+ 8GB but once I can get a new GPU I will be spending minimum £350 on one anyway (3060/3060ti/5700)
  3. Hi, I am going to be upgrading my old gaming PC (once the GPU situation relaxes) but I was going to upgrade my monitor in the meantime. I have a iiyama 24.5" blackhawk 1080p 75hz at the moment. I was looking to jump to 1440p and at least 27" but the main feature was at least 144hz. A few I seen was: Iiyama G-Master GB2760QSU-B1 27" Black, 2560 x 1440, 1ms, 144hz Acer VG271UPbmiipx 144Hz 27in 2560 x 1440 IPS MSI Optix G27CQ4 27 inch, Quad HD, 1ms, 165Hz Gigabyte G27QC Can anyone give recommendations on these or any others. Looking to spend around £300. Cheers
  4. Is it worth manually overclocking that card or just use the in settings boost?
  5. I went for the Sapphire RX 580 Nitro+ 8GB for £299
  6. I went for the Sapphire RX 580 Nitro+ 8GB for £299
  7. So hard to choose. I must have watched about 20 videos with benchmarks etc yesterday. I like the fact the 580 is future proof for DX12/Vulkan and has 2GB more memory, but the 1060 did score more higher FPS in games (apart from 2-3). On the other hand 580 has freesync and those monitors are a lot cheaper than gsync. Guess i've got a bit of thinking to do but I suppose there is no rush, the prices can only go down anyway, and like I said the second I buy one NVIDIA will release there new models and the others will drop knowing my luck lol.
  8. Thanks for the replies. Tbh I think I will be sticking to 1080p for now anyway, even in the new monitor. I sit basically infront of the screen so I think a 24" is the biggest I should go.. 27" might be a bit of a stretch and someone told me 1080p at 27" right infront of it is too noticeable. Guess I will decide on GPU and then go for 24" 1080p at least 60hz and freesync if possible.
  9. Just so I know whether to push for a 1440p monitor or 1080p. I will be getting about a 24" and don't want to push for 1440p if I am going to sacrifice too much quality details. Card in question would be a Nitro+ 580 or Strix 1060.
  10. Hi, What should you prioritize more: 1440p over 1080p on lower quality settings 1080p over 1440p on max quality settings ?
  11. Sorry for double post but gotta be honest, I really like the Nitro+ model, would actually fit into my white build as I can change the LED and the backplate although not white matches a lot of the silver in my case. Gets a good writeup too. Take it the 8GB at £300 is a good deal? And definitely worth the investment at this time to last for high quality gaming for a good 2-3 years?
  12. The prices im seeing so far are: RX580 Aorus - £299 GTX 1060 6GB Dual White - £320 GTX 1060 6GB Strix - £325 So there's not much between them, and im trying to suit my nice white/rgb colour theme... Will do a bit more researching but I prefer the look of the STRIX, but again if the RX is cheaper and gives more power then should be swaying to that. I liked that the Aorus was RGB until I seen the orange lines don't change colour :'(
  13. I took it apart there and replaced it and now I don't get any video output at all lol.
  14. Would it be obvious to see this? Would me sending a pick of the underside of the board help any?
