  1. Thanks for all your feedback. I sure understand that it isn't always possible to have tons of vlogs every week, and I am sorry if I made it sound like I do expect that. I just enjoy seeing Linus and the others interact in these kind of formats, because it is just very interesting and entertaining. I hope you all are having nice holidays and I wish you a happy new year!
  2. I am kind of unhappy with how little FP exclusive content is posted, and recently there were a lot of simultaneous releases I feel. For $2.99/month this is disappointing to me, and I do not see the gain. I understand that Linus and the others are busy, but is it too much to ask to have a FP exclusive vlog once a week as compared to once a month? But I am curious, what do others think? Am I the only one? Or what is the main motivation for joining FP for you guys? Cheers & happy holidays Jens
  3. Hi folks, I am using Windows 10's Backup options to back up my Desktop (yeah, I know, I should be more organized) and my data drive to an internal backup drive (two 6TB in Raid 1). So basically I just added the drive D: and my Desktop to the folders listed under "Backup options" -> "Back up these folders." Sure enough, this should work? It kinda does, but sometimes when I view the "Backup options" to make sure all is well, my data drive D: no longer shows in the list under "Back up these folders." What the heck? Has anyone around here experienced that? Cheers Jens
  4. By the way, I just realized there is an active community over here: http://www.swbfgamers.com/
  5. Wow I might be lucky. I found the folder on one very old and dusty hard drive. It's quite amazing, a full game back then was only 3GB.
  6. I like it much more, I just think the maps are better. Sure, the game modes are not that well developed, but there is just so much nostalgia connected with that game for me. Plus, modding was amazing. Almost no support, so we had to come up with all kinds of workarounds...
  7. Thanks, I know that there is the Battlefront II from 2005 on Steam. But I am specifically looking for the first one from 2004.
  8. Hello friends, With the recent hype around Star Wars Battlefront II and the open beta being out, I remembered the first Battlefront from 2004. I really loved it, and I played it up till a year ago on my old machine. Unfortunately, the system bit the dust and the hard drive that had Battlefront installed on it has been damaged. I also no longer have the CD... So, do you guys know where to purchase this game digitally? I'd rather want to avoid buying the original CD-based game, because my new computer does not even have an optical drive anymore. Cheers Jens
  9. I just found the same sound in Austin's Storinator, just skip to 3:44 in this video: Linus doesn't even flinch, so I guess it's OK ;-)
  10. Thanks! I won't use it for streaming, though. I am studying abroad, so I want to plant this NAS at a safe location in my home country (my parents' house :D) and access it remotely from across the globe. So the only thing I actually need is a remote access. At some point, the Web Station plugin might be nice to so that I can host a private picture gallery (very low traffic, but large number of files).
  11. Thanks a lot, that sounds encouraging! I'll have a look at that website and get back to you when I have connected it to my router. Might be a few days though.
  12. Hi everybody, I just purchased a Synology DS416slim with four 1TB WD Red 2.5@" NAS drives which should give me plenty of storage (mostly private documents, emails, and some pictures) for the next couple of years. Right now I have it hooked up to my PC directly to transfer my files, but after that I would like to hook it up to my router to be able to access it remotely as well. But my problem is simple: I have no experience at all when it comes to network configuration. DHCP, port forwarding, all these things have no meaning to me. Simple question: where can I learn the basics that I would need to set up my NAS? I am aware this is a very broad and general question with many possible answers, but perhaps you know a good resource. Thank you very much! Best wishes Jens
  13. OK, no errors detected on either drive. Is there anything else you would recommend me check?
  14. Test is running, I will post the results when it is done. Might be a while though.
  15. Yeah, strangely enough they both make that sound. I will look into the two pieces of software you mentioned.
