  1. Hehehe I suppose I should have started with that question then seeing that was the result I was after in the first place. Thanks for the info!
  2. All I have at the moment is 120GB SSDs and I want the OS on it and a few games that would benefit from the extra speed. As far as backups are you talking restore points or regular file backups? So far I have only ever had pcs with one HDD so the few times I have had problems I lost a bunch of stuff.
  3. So I can just plug in as many SSDs/HDDs as my motherboard and powersupply can support without doing a Raid?
  4. Hello, I would like to setup a combination of HDD and SSD in my pc and I am wondering what the best way to do that would be. I want an SSD for the OS and another for Battlefield4 and Ark. For the rest of my data I want to use one or more HDDs. My question is what is the best way to set it up, I've heard about setting up a Raid and using the drives externally. Could I setup the data I want on the drives and plug them into a dock or would I be better off setting up a Raid? Also ate there other options?
  5. Hello, I have found myself in need of a new monitor and I want to stay as close to a $100 USD as I can. I plan on playing game's like Ark, PUBG, Battlefield 4 and so on. I found this (ASUS VE228H 21.5" Full HD 1920x1080) for $107 USD on amazon. Is this a decent monitor or should I keep looking? Any suggestions would be great. Oh and I'm running a 1050ti.
  6. So I reformatted a spare hard drive I had with the same recovery disk mentioned before and now it works fine and doesn't have any trouble booting up. My setup Is all the same except for the hard drive. Anyone know how I can fix my old hard? I want to completely erase everything on it and start over as if it were brand new.
  7. Oh yes it is windows 7. Hehehe forgot to mention that part.
  8. Hello, I have been having trouble with my hard drive for a couple weeks now and even reformatting it didn't help. I have an HP p6774y with an EVGA Gtx 660 and 8gb of corsair vengeance DDR3. For about two weeks every time it restarts it stops at a black screen with some words on it (I'll post a picture soon). The only way I could get around it is to go into the boot menu and select my hard drive. I ran the diagnostics and it said the boot system is corrupt or isn't there. Also I noticed alot of my game's have been much slower and some of them didn't even work anymore. So I decided to wipe everything and reinstall windows with a recovery disk I made years ago hoping that would fix everything. Sadly I still have the boot problem. So I'm not really sure what to do, is my hard drive going to always have this problem?
  9. Thanks for all the info guys. As far as performance will a Ryzen 3 paired with a GTX 1050 ti be better than a core i5 2400 paired with a GTX 1050ti? If so do you got references? I've looked into this quite a bit and the i5 and gtx 1050 should work great for my needs. Also I have a 500GB hard drive and 120gb SSD that I will add to the post when I get home.
  10. Yes USD. How much better of a a system would I get? I plan on playing Ark survival evolved, Battlefield 4, Mass Effect Andromeda, minecraft, Need for Speed, etc.
  11. I have the processor but not the graphics card.
  12. Hello I am planning on building a gaming pc for as close to 500 USD as I can. I am getting overwhelmed trying to figure out what motherboard I should get because there are so many options and features. I am going with DDR3 and I'd like USB 3.0 if possible. Also I don't mind using used parts. This is what I have so far and I will be updating this post as I get more parts. If I forgot anything or you have any suggestions feel free to let me know. Cpu: Intel i5 2400, $52.30 Cpu fan: CRYORIG - H7 49.0, 34.99 Gpu: Ram: PS: MB: Intel DH67BLB3, $44.44 Case: Hdd: Seagate Barracuda 500GB HDD SSD: SanDisk SSD plus 120gb, free DVD: OS:
  13. Sorry th ti was an accident, it is a msi GeForce gtx 1070 8gb ddr5. What would be a good processor to pair it with?
  14. Hello, I recently purchased a Gtx 1070 ti 8gb ddr5 and I was wondering if having an Intel i5 2400 would be sufficient or if It would bottleneck and I should upgrade my cpu?
  15. Thank you very much for all the information, you guys have been a tremendous help. I started a new post where I will be asking other questions about my build if you guy care to take a look.
