  1. Thanks for all the suggestions.
  2. Would an RTX 2060 make sense for this budget?
  3. I am planning to put together a balanced system for games, audio production and multimedia entertainment. Does anyone have suggestions on what components I should go with to improve the price to performance ratio? Ideally, I would want to stay below $1000. ($800 would be the best) Would also want the system to be able to handle gaming at 1080p with nice graphical textures. This is what I've chosen at the moment https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/gaon97/saved/#view=PrPmqs Games I would play on the system Final Fantasy 15 Dead or Alive 6 Tekken 7 Grand Theft Auto 5 Rainbow Six: Siege Rise of the Tomb Raider Witcher 3 Just Cause 3 Dirt Rally
  4. So here's the thing, I bought a new laptop from Acer. Everything works fine but I noticed whenever I play an intensive game, whether it being GTA5, The Witcher 2 or any games that uses the MX150, fluctuating and uneven framerates occur to the point of unplayable and major stutters. I know most probably the 4GB of RAM was the issue as it is inadequate but it shouldn't affect performance that much. I also noticed the processor clock hovering at 800mhz to 1.4ghz range, which seems odd to me given i am running GTA5. So out of curiosity I used a different brick from another Acer laptop that previously powered a 2nd gen i7 laptop...and behold, not only was the major stuttering gone, my laptop also managed to maintain 30fps most of the time. I guess my question would be could this really be a possibility and has anyone ever experienced this? My laptop Acer Aspire E14 E5-476G Core i5 8250u Nvidia MX150 2GB DDR5 VRAM 4GB (4X1)DDR4 2400 1TB Hdd
  5. Well...bidding in E-bay is tough. A minute the C2D T9550 was 4usd suddenly as it nears ending the bid goes up to 10usd. I ended up going for the lower clocked Intel Core 2 Duo P8700, with a 2.53Ghz clock speed and a whopping 3MB of L2 cache..I won the bid and paid only MYR8 (1.87usd) with free shipping. Everything is slightly faster with that extra mb of cache and slightly higher clock speed.
  6. Um..of course I am upgrading my processor...how else to get a bigger cache? T9600 is my choice so now I need to consider everything before I make my purchase...
  7. I am planning to upgrade...
  8. How about music production? I have this issue of whenever I use more than 16 tracks (with effects) the processor will be at 100% and the audio starts cracking up or stutters. I have adjusted the latency and what not but still doesn't help much. I don't game much and mainly use this laptop for music production. Core 2 Duo T6600 2.2GHz FSB800Mhz 2MB cache 4GB DDR2-800 !TB HGST 5k1000
  9. Well, the title is self-explanatory. I am referring to Intel processors, Mobile Core 2 Duos in particular. Will upgrading to a processor with bigger cache do make a noticeable difference, say for DAW or music production? L2 cache---2MB to 6MB
  10. I personally do not believe in this kind of product...
  11. I do use CCleaner..I happened to come across this website and just wanted to hear opinions about it.
  12. I came across a software that claims to speed up everything and just wanted some opinions whether it is legit. http://www.veryfast.io/ Is it safe?
  13. I found a CPU selling for 4 usd...should I go for it? T9550( 2.66GHz, 1066mhz)
  14. This is confusing.... So based on HP's products specs it goes all the way up to T9550 But then based on wiki the steppings is different (T6600 has a stepping of R0 and T9550 of E0) Are they compatible with one another?
  15. I know.. I just wanted to see whether it is possible to upgrade and if so what are my best CPU options. I might not be using this laptop in 5 years but it will be nice to know if this computer's CPU can be upgraded.
