  1. this was my original pc build list of components i7 4790k running at 4.8ghz 2 x asus r9 290x (small overclock) 16gb ram asus rog vii motherboard custom watercooling with 3 ocool radiators cpu is cooled by a 480mm x 60mm and the gpu with a 280 x 80mm 120gb ssd 2 x 2tb wd black hard drives phanteks primoo case originally i asked for advice on how to clean it up as it was messy i decided to change the case to a thermal take p5 i also went from 2 r9 290x's to a single gtx 1080ti i didn't put the gpu in the loop as i liked the look of the cooler and wasn't going to overclock it, i was also happy with the temps and the noise however, after installing it, i realised it looks a little out of place so i have ordered the cooler and will put it in next weekend any feedback / criticism is invited thanks
  2. agreed just ordered the block going in next week
  3. update to my pc see my other post for info on my old rig got rid of the 290x crossfire cards and went for a single gtx 1080ti went for a thermal take p5 case and hardline tubing next step is to put the gpu into the loop, wasn't going to do this originally as i liked the look of the cards and wasn't that bothered about overclocking so the temps weren't too bad but after installing it, i think it clashes, will post more pics when this is done
  4. update to my pc got rid of the 290x crossfire cards and went for a single gtx 1080ti went for a thermal take p5 case and hardline tubing next step is to put the gnu into the loop, wasn't going to do this originally as i liked the look of the cards and wasn't that bothered about overclocking so the temps weren't too bad but after installing it, i think it clashes, will post more pics when this is done
  5. hi, thank you for the reply i dont suppose why you know this has just happened so suddenly, the gpu was always at o percent usage unless gaming but would always show the idle temp is it anything to worry about?
  6. thank you for the reply, definitely sounds reasonable, my only concern was that this just happened out the blue after running for the last 6 months normally thanks for the link, ill check the dpi later
  7. the cards are on a custom water loop idle temps will be around 28 degrees when idle, this has always come up in AB and gpuz for some reason, last night, the temp of the second card was at o i checked the cables etc and everything seemed fine so i ran a benchmark and the card then went up in temp and usage as normal same when i ran a game, after i quit the benchmark or game, the gnu goes back to 0 very strange
  8. thanks for the reply do you know why it would be only in them programs and not games
  9. hi I'm running 2 x r9 290x's in my system, as of last night, the second gpu's temperature went to 0 degrees c in afterburner and gpuz for no apparent reason. if i benchmark and play games, the second gnu is recognised and the tempe goes up like normal. does anyone know whats going on? thanks
  10. just wanna say thanks to you guys for the advice, used forums alot but this is the first time ive joined one and posted was expecting to get some abuse on the untidiness but you've all been really positive and helpful
  11. superspeed07 said the same thing i followed a guide installing the waterloop, it was so difficult and frustration kicked in, hence the mess the pc itself runs fine and cool which was the goal but i cant stop looking at it and getting annoyed thanks for the advice, gonna go with the new cables and change the loop next time i drain it, your right about the pci connectors, there hideous haha
  12. yeah, i looked into compression fittings, gonna get some when i next drain this out
  13. the psu is modular so i can get the cables quite easily never thought of running the cables as you said as i was following a tutorial originally, looking at it now, its black and white!! great bit of advice, thankyou very much i really appreciate it
