  1. Thank you. I hope it will work fine. Now I will only try to see if I can get some kind of a deal for 1070, but it's pretty big price difference.
  2. yea, currently it is really just 10€ difference, so I think it may be worth it for future, but still I'm not 100% sure about compatibility... MSI says it's compatible etc., but there are also many topics where people are having problems with booting and installing OS on it.
  3. It is the same price (5€ difference), but if I saw right it has slower writes and reads. Is there any pluses, that I might missed?
  4. My overall budget is max 1250€. Currently we have promotion in my country to this NVMe drives are basically the same price as normal SSDs. I will work with Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro and maybe once every few months a little bit of gaming. I know Ryzen is faster in rendering, but I care more about general responsivness than redering time (I sleep at night :P). Well about "new platform", nobody has Ryzens more than 3 months, some components are not yet compatiable with it, maybe few bugs may appear and nobody knows how long it will last, as for Intel we know it's good stuff. So with my current situation, I must be sure it will work. So can 1060 be problem with Premiere Pro playbacks? Thank you, that is good to hear! This is your own experience?
  5. Hi everyone. I'm currently building my new rig after more than 7 years. I do follow follow tech news, but only when choosign components you actually realize how much technology has improved over last few years. I didn't order components yet, but here is what I choose: (there is no Ryzen, because I currently can't afford the risk of new platform) PSU: 650 Watt Seasonic G Series Modular 80+ Gold MoBo: MSI Z270 SLI PLUS CPU: Intel i7 7700k GPU: MSI GTX 1060 Armor edition 6GB RAM: 16GB DDR4-2800 DIMM RipJaws V Red Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400 TG CPU Cooler: Artic Freezer 33 CO SSD (M.2): 250GB Samsung 960 Evo M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 3.0 x4 HDD: 3TB Seagate BarraCuda ST3000DM008 So I have two questions here. First is pretty basic.: #1 What is your overall opinion about my build? Are big bottlenecks? #2 Well this is my biggest concern at the moment. I never had or even saw M.2 disc before and in my research I saw quite a few topics about problems with this disc to use as primary boot drive. Is there anyone who has experience with this motherboard (or similar from this series of MSI motherboards) that could tell me if it will work as primery OS boot drive on this motherboard or not? And if I will face any problems or some settings in bios that I should change? Thank you very much for any help in advace!! Have a great day. Regards, Matevz
  6. Hey. I will kidnap this topic. So I'm deciding between i7 7700k and Ryzen 1700. I will be using it for Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, little gaming (really little ), etc. I know pretty much all of you will tell me that 1700 is clear winner and all benchmarks say so too, BUT I'm deciding about this for over a month now, so here is my current point of view and I would really appreciate it if you would tell me what is your opinion about my thinking. - We all know that Intel chips are great quality products which will last for 10+ years. As for AMD, in the past they were not so good, and Ryzen is totally new platform. Nobody had this chips for more than 3 months, so how I can be sure it won't lose performance sooner than expected or even something worse? - All tests with Adobe CC are based on rendering times, but in my case it's much more important how good is overall responsiveness of software, I can export projects at night... So is there any benefit from more cores in normal workflow or can I benefit more from higher clocked cores? - Are optimizations for multiple cores use really that close? We have 8 core Xeons for years at the market, so why is software not yet optimized for them then? Or it's not that simple, and we could wait for optimizations for few more years where whole story about processors could be totally different? - i7 has integraded graphics while Ryzen7 doesn't. I will have nVidia GPU of course, but can be integraded GPU from i7 be beneficial in any other way? Is there any good point of having it? Well this are my concernes and that's why I can't decide which processor to choose for over a month now. I really can't afford to choose the wrong one at the moment, but I will have to choose red or blue team in next 3 days so any help would be great, because I really don't want to draw. Thanks in advance and have a great day! Regards, Matevz
