  1. Great, thanks again everyone. Could u get away with plugging in only one 8 pin power connector, or would u also need the second (8 or 6 pin, card depending)
  2. Great - so is the 600w recommended psu just overly cautions on the card specs?
  3. I currently have a 550w evga g3 PSU. Will it be enough to power the following build? I won't be overclocking. I know the recommended psu is 600w, but i'm guessing that is for beefier, overclocked systems? 1080 Ti (yet to be purchased) Intel i7-6700 (non-k) Kingston 240gb SSD Seagate 7.2K HDD Two 80mm Fans 200mm Fan 92mm Cpu cooler fan Gigabyte B150N Phoenix Mobo Gaming Mouse and Keyboard (Steelseries rival 700, Cherry mx board 6.0) NZXT Hue+
  4. Installed an evga g3 psu. What are the advantages of a z170 or z270 mobo over my current one? Im having mobo issues so may be due a replacement very soon
  5. Depends on your budget. You mobo and setup in general is a bit aged, but you can get some great value currency generation parts if you consider a new build. What would you use your system for, and what is your budget?
  6. I recently replaced my psu with an evga g3 550w unit. My specs are: i7-6700, Gigabyte b150n, Gigabyte gtx 1070 mini, CCL choice 16gb ram (2x8gb), stock Intel cpu cooler, Seagate 2tb hdd, Kingston 240gb ssd, thermaltake core v1 case My pc worked perfectly with the cooler Master B500 V2 power supply. The pc powers on, all leds, fans mobo lights work for about 10-15 seconds, then there is a click like it shuts down, and re boots continously. No beeps. Noting on my monitor, and I can't use the keyboard or mouse to get into the bios. I've checked all cables are seated, no metal is touching the case or mobo, the mobo display output wont show anything, and no ram configuration works either. Any ideas? I may have a warranty for it to be inspected, but it will likely cost me money and that won't be until next week
  7. would it fit in my case okay? And are they easy enough to install? I liked the cryorig c7 initially because of the low profile
  8. I have a build using an intel i7-6700 (non K) and use it to play recent games and for CAD (solidowrks, adobe suite). What do you think to the stock intel cooler? I've been looking at some aftermarket coolers, but i'm not sure what will fit. Any recommendations? My budget is flexible, so any suggestion is good! Obviously since my processor is locked, I don't overclock at all. Thanks!
  9. Bought an evga g3 550w and some be quiet 80mm fans as my arctic ones were old as hell and starting to die. Thanks for all the advice!
  10. The 550w EVGA G2 80+ gold is just in budget, if that would be a good recommendation
  11. Okay, I'd say my budget would be around £60.00 GBP which equates to roughly 80 USD. I was looking at the EVGA 550 B3 550W, as it appears to have th esame amount of connectors as my current psu, so should be easy to switch over. Sorry as im relatively new to pc building, is it as simple as unplugging all cables, unscrewing the old psu, count the new one and insert the new cables? Thanks again
  12. I'm living in the UK, so my currency is GBP. I don't have a set budget for psu, just whatever is considered reliable enough and suitable for my needs. Is it possible to fit a new psu without removing the other components? I'm using an LG Ultrawide monitor, not specifically for gaming, but i'm more than happy with it at the moment. It's 29" 2560x1080 5ms, 60hz. Thanks for the response!
  13. Thanks for the reply everyone - what is the issuer with the cooler master b500? what psu would you recommend to replace it?
  14. Hi guys, I'm relatively new to pc gaming and i'm very happy with my current system, however i've just got a bonus and was curious as to what you would upgrade first, when the time comes. My specs are listed below: Intel core i76700 (non-k), stock cooler Gigabyte GTX 1070 Mini 8gb Gigabyte B150N Motherboard 16GB generic ddr4 RAM (2x16gb) Kingston 250gb ssd Seagate 2th hd Thermaltake core v1 with stock 200mm intake fan 2x arctic 120mm exhaust fans cooler master b500 V2 500W PSU nzxt hue+ lights and controller I am aware I shouldnt upgrade until I have performance issues, but as im new to pc building im not sure what part is the weakest on my list, or what parts are compatible. Could I replace the gtx 1070 mini with an evga 1080 mini and have no issues with compatibility and power? would the i7 or ram then bottleneck a more powerful gpu? Thank you in advance
