  1. I essentially want to know where I can become a server architect. And yeah, but somebody builds that somewhere. Where would I get the knowledge to learn how to do that?
  2. Hello, I was wondering if anybody knows where I can learn an extensive amount of knowledge about designing and building servers on the data centre scale. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Josh
  3. This looks like what I need. I'll let you know if it works. Thank you so much.
  4. Yes. Thank you. I understand all of that. What I don't understand is the actual configuration side of things. Such as configuring postfix to handle incoming email for multiple domains.
  5. Well, thank you for the info. I'm having trouble getting postfix to tell dovecot where to send mail when I use the username@domain setup for usernames. I think that the best way would be to set it up with MySQL, but I'm not sure how to configure postfix with that, being that I have multiple domains that I want mail to go to. Right now, I have it working, but I cannot have the same username on both domains... Which is alright for the time being, but I would like to set it up to be able to have say, user1@example.com and user1@example2.com. But as of the moment I am having difficulty with that... I guess I'll just have to stick to the late-night googling...
  6. I appreciate that, but it's mostly basic stuff... I'm looking for something a little more in depth in terms of how dovecot handles authentication and how postfix tells dovecot which email account to send the mail to.
  7. Hello all, I was wondering if there are any people here who are knowledgeable when it comes to things like mail servers in Linux. I currently am running my own mail server, however, it is not configured in the most ideal way, as dovecot is using users to sign in and not a database with usernames and passwords. However, I am soon going to be starting another business, and being so, I will purchase a new domain. So, my question is, what would be the most ideal way to configure my mail server to use more than one domain when my users log in online and with their mobile devices? I was thinking something along the lines of a MySQL database, so, I did some research on that, but it was just a little over my head, as I do not know much about mail servers, other than the basics. If any of you know anything and would be willing to lend the help, I would be much obliged.
