  1. I understand where you are coming from, but the problem is why wouldn't it turn on at all when the battery is plugged in? Thanks!
  2. Nope, I haven't... and I don't have a DVM; although I should probably get one, thanks!
  3. Hey there. I'm troubleshooting a laptop and I'm getting no boot, black screen, but the power LED lights up. When I unplug the battery I can get into the windows recovery options page and I can attempt to click on "continue to windows," but the problem is as it tries to load up windows it turns off (of course when this is happening it's plugged into the wall). I'm thinking the battery is faulty here... but I just want to make sure. The thing is, there are plenty of people online saying that a laptop should still turn on regardless of whether the batter is connected or not, but that's not what I'm experiencing. Laptop info: latitude 7490. Thank you very much!
  4. Hello there, I have a GTX 1070, a view sonic monitor (able to operate at 75hz) and an Elgato HD60, Sometimes when my PC turns on (when they are all connected (so gpu->elgato->monitor)) my monitor would act wired random lines would show up (a lot like static,) I would unplug and re-plug my HDMI (elgato, and power) then it would return to normal, one day (today) I opened it up and it had this wired effect like your looking from top of a fire (or hot surface) and you see things a little off (kind of like moving) so I decided to find a fix and decided to plug my elgato into its own HDMI port and the Display into its own HDMI port. I found a solution, to open up NVIDIA Control Panel and under multiple displays, clone my monitor, then go under adjust desktop size and position to set them to different refresh rates (both at 1080p for me) the guide, said to set No scaling and GPU, and for both "monitors" and they both worked, so here is my first question whats the difference if I kept Aspect Ratio vs No scaling? Second, Would this put more load on my GPU? Finally, is there a better solution or is there a problem with any of my equipment? (it's worth noting that I had a noticeable amount of desync (like I would need a G-Sync monitor to solve) towards the bottom of my screen, when I had them all plunged in together) <--will this problem be solved now? is it also normal for chrome to take a second to adjust (from full screen to 1/2 screen for example) or is that just me? 6. Thanks for the reviews btw, I can't trust Ryzen I have an AMD FX8350 and it RUNS HOT AF... Also, Ryzen is young AF and still needs to go through puberty and a lot of maturities to achieve the gaming level on Intel, although I understand the workstation side of things but I've watched enough videos, I know for a fact that I am not going to be doing multi-tasking and I am not going to render 4K videos, so a couple minutes for a difference is not a problem, (especially that I don't care about time since I can just render a video and something else at the same time.) THE EXTRA FANS IS BECUASE I NEVER WANT TO DEAL WITH OVERHEATING BECUASE I HAVE TO DEAL WITH NO GAMES RIGHT NOW AND I DONT WANT ANOTHER PROBLEM OR HUDACH WITH OVERHEATING. PC that I want: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gzFWsJ Thanks :D.
  7. Before you make that decision make sure the 1050ti can run your monitors... you don't want your 1050ti running too hot or too slow or any other problems. The more intense what ever you are doing the more power for you'll need so if you're going to run both monitors for high-end gaming, you might want to buy a new Graphics Card, this topic has many factors I just want you to know do your research so you won't run into troubles. 8. Hey everyone, hope you are having a great day! So I finally decided my parts on my PC (I want to build for gaming and a little bit of workstation due to youtube video processing and editing) after a 6700K (to cheap out on a Z170 rather than Z270 I find it worth it) and a GTX 1080. BUT, the biggest bottleneck that no one expects is.... The Monitor... I am going to buy the Asus VX228H (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236358&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=) Which is a 1080p 60hz. I can't have the full experience but I have to, to stay under the 1800$ budget I have, I know you can build that same computer for like ~1400$ but the youtube gear also takes about 300$ and I have no peripherals, to be honest, it is at ~1870$ with Kinguin windows as of right but I can't spend another hundred for a better monitor. So in this case scenario, do I go for the better parts and worse monitor and have a bottle neck (REMEMBER IT IS UPGRADEABLE LATER) or do I get a better monitor and change my CPU (NOT GPU DUE TO MINING.) I don't know because I'm falling towards the bottlenecked monitor because it would be cheaper to upgrade rather than getting newer parts later (and because the newer parts in the future may also create a bottleneck to today's parts.) And because monitors just keep getting cheaper and cheaper. So any advice? I appreciate your time, and thanks for the advice, I hope it helps me and many others.
  9. Ok.... WTF man, I mean come on all I want is a PC (personal is the important part as I share my PC with my brothers so I want to get one for myself...SHARING IS NOT an OPTION) over the summer and doesn't life suck... I want it with a youtube setup for under 1,500 Dollars I don't have anything(all PC parts, monitor, peripherals, and Elgato and blue snowball)... So the important part is I heard that pairing an i5 6600K with a GTX 1080 (I wish it was a 1070 but WTF miners..) so anyway I heard that 1080 will be bottlenecked by the i5 so should I still go for it, I want my PC ASAP but... of course MINERS so waiting is really not the best option I can probably wait until like August but NO LATER... So should I not worry too much about bottlenecks or just wait in depression as time passes by to see me as an old man in a grave... and MINERS are still ON THE GOD DAM 1070s... So my main question is will prices be dropping soon? When will 1070 for miners be launched? Will the 1080 be BOTTLENECKED or not? Should I wait or not? Please if I got angry a little BIT don't report ok.... (btw never read rules and now sound like a moron now...) MINUTES LATER: Ryzen is fine btw but I noticed that for the same price you get better performance on gaming with intel (Thanks, love the community instant replies LOL...)
  10. Dude, look so I just went to intel's website for fun and found that some store offers core I7 7700K for only 300$ I mean it's 50$ cheaper and the store is called microcenter here is a link to intel and the store: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/processors/core/i7-processors/i7-7700k.html http://www.microcenter.com/product/472529/Core_i7-7700K_Kaby_Lake_42_GHz_LGA_1151_Boxed_Processor Have anyone bought from there before, is it legit?
  11. So I am planning on getting a computer (well Maybe,) but when I put it on PC part picker it said that the computer will need 80-340W but I might upgrade (if I will get one, well at least if not then this will help someone (hopefully)) but what I am planning on getting for the PSU is a 650W PSU, I watched the techquickey and it just made it harder, so should I just stick to 400 to 500 or should I just go 650? (I'm planning on getting a modular PSU) Hopefully, I'll get it through the summer from a summer job, Thank you, and thanks to Linus for great videos.
