  1. When you say loading circle, do you mean the spinning dots? How long have you had this machine? Did you install a Windows update immediately prior to this issue?
  2. Ouch! Those issues suck but 10 hours... wow. I feel your pain.
  3. Agreed. Apple's hatred of the independent repair community is nothing but shameful. What's happened with your wife's MBP?
  4. Oh I don't disagree at all. I think it's a needed kick. I'm just on the pessimistic side and doubt it will really change anything unless these lawsuits multiply. (And I hope they do.)
  5. Even that is just a drop in the bucket for Apple. So it sounds good on paper (or screen), but I doubt Apple really cares that much.
  6. Sorry, I should have specified in the OP. :) I'm from Indiana (We have corn and soybeans...and cow farts. Yay?) I do need something with decent color accuracy. I don't mind a gaming machine as long as it doesn't look gamery. This machine will be used in client meetings, etc.
  7. Hey, team. I edit videos on the go and also do a bit of light gaming (very occasionally). I'm using the Adobe suite mainly: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator - plus Affinity Designer, Blender and Office (which can run on a potato). I'd like to find something with the following: GPU: Dedicated, at least 2GB of VRAM, preferably Nvidia CPU: Ryzen 5+, Intel i7+ RAM: 16GB+, with the ability to upgrade SCREEN: 13" or 15" BATTERY: At least 5 hours on a charge Plus a decent keyboard. For under $1,000 SO, I know this is a big ask, but does something like this exist? I suspect I'm asking too much with this budget but I figured you awesome people might know of something. I've looked into gaming laptops, but they tend to have pretty terrible battery life. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance, all!
  8. Well, some would say that Indianapolis IS the middle of nowhere but.... ha THANKS EVERYONE! The machine has now been sold to one of my coworkers. Go figure.
  9. Good point. I'm in the USA. Sorry about that. I'll update the OP.
  10. Here are my specs: CPU - Intel Core i5-6400 GPU - PNY GTX 960 4GB, PCIe 3.0 x16 RAM: 2 x 8GB Patriot DDR4 MOBO: ASUS Sabertooth Z170 S CASE: Corsair Carbide Quiet 600Q PSU: Coolmax ZX-700, 700W OS: Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit How much would you charge for something like this? Please be honest. I don't want to overcharge anyone. Edit: I'm located in Indiana, United States. So my currency would be in USD, but suggestions in other currencies are welcome too. Thanks! Michael
  11. But wait! How about a MacBook Pro! /s Seriously though, I've heard good things about the Razer Blade.
  12. QUAD 1080ti?? So.... you're broke now I guess?
  13. I have Comcast - so 10-15 Mbps sustained. Not fantastic but not horrible. Down, I get 70-80+ Mbps. It sounds like I should try NVENC on the GTX. Then if that doesn't help as much as I'd like I'll look for a CPU upgrade. Though, since it's been a few years I may try a Ryzen build for fun. THANK YOU, everyone!
  14. Hey crew. I'm looking at doing some streaming on Twitch. However, my rig is having trouble keeping up even at 1080p recording when gaming. It records the desktop just great (which I use for business). I built the machine a couple of years ago. When I built it, I used a very medium i5-6400 CPU and a GTX960. CPU: Intel i5-6400 GPU: GTX 960, 4GB RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4, 2666 MOBO: ASUS Sabertooth Z170S SSD: 256GB Toshiba (OS, Software) HDD: 1TB Western Digital (Storage) It plays games at 1080 very well on high to max settings depending on the title. But it struggles to encode during gameplay. I'm sure there's a bottleneck somewhere. I'm thinking the CPU. What do you guys think? Would it be worth upgrading to an i7+? I'm using OBS to record if it helps. Thanks in advance.
