I'm down to 1.26v in cpu core voltage, I noticed that my DRAM voltage is set to 1.36V and some other voltages is higher as well. Is it ok for cpu core voltage to be lower than those?
-
My thoughts exactly. I also remounted twice now. Same high temp. I guess I just got a bad chip. I t's prob not enough grounds to return it to microcenter.
-
and when I run those stress tests, 80 degrees should be the upper limit at max right? at least, from what I have read. Also, thanks for your help.
-
right now it's 1.29V I'll try all of it out but what volt would u recommend me? like 1.27?
-
I won't be buying tools to delid...so my option is either don't set my RAM to its full potential or roll back my CPU to like 4.7 ghz or something
-
I compared with a lot of people online though. Most people can get 4.8ghz without a problem...
-
that process seems to hard for me. I will pas on that option. I shouldn't be getting such a high temp, at least not when I am comparing it to other people's

CPU is set @ 4.8Ghz and 1.29 volts. I set my ram to 3200 mhz(from base) and now my CPU seems to be running a lot hotter. I ran Time Spy and during it's CPU bench test it reaches mid to upper 90's and sometimes over 100. CPU-Z bench was around 84 degrees. AIDA-64 was around high 80's reaching low 90's. 80's and 90's are too high. I already remounted my cooler and followed procedure very well. Why is it so high. How can I identify the problem? What should I do? here is my build list: [PCPartPicker part list](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2XKppb) / [Price breakdown by merchant](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2XKppb/by_merchant/) Type|Item|Price :----|:----|:---- **CPU** | [Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor] **CPU Cooler** | [Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler] **Motherboard** | [MSI Z270 GAMING PRO CARBON ATX LGA1151 Motherboard] **Memory** | [G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory] **Storage** | [Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive] **Video Card** | [Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB AORUS Xtreme Edition 11G Video Card] **Case** | [Fractal Design Define S w/Window ATX Mid Tower Case] **Power Supply** | [Thermaltake 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply] **Monitor** | [Dell S2716DG 27.0" 2560x1440 144Hz Monitor] here is also my GPU testings if it matters at all.

CPU overclocking guide for MSI z270 gaming pro carbon?
jjsung replied to jjsung's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I don't think I tested it with stock. I think CPU is ok at 4.7ghz and 1.29 volts but I'm having all sorts of problem. Not sure if it's cpu or gpu. I have made a new thread- 4 replies

1080 ti aorus keeps on crashing while doing testing and witcher 3
jjsung replied to jjsung's topic in Troubleshooting
@AgentTomek @ARikozuM I just found out that I can only play/work with the silent mode of this card...which doesn't make sense since the whole point of paying extra is to be able to play on the OC and gaming mode. I will check on the even view thing as well. Also, I think another problem I was having is I had the aorus graphics engine and MSI afterburner and changing settings on either of them messed it up for me -
So yesterday I could test my GPU fine on 3D mark, but today it keeps on crashing. I didn't even manual overclock it. Just on OC settings in the aorus graphics engine. I also crash in the witcher 3 soon as I get to a cut scene. There's also screen flickering and other graphics glitch. On GPU z it shows GPU core clock- 1608 mhz, memory clock - 1431 mhz. How do I go around finding the problem and fixing this?

speaker connects to the monitor. When I tried plugging it in the audio port on the top of the case, it was even worse.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2XKppb My monitor is connected to the case by DP and monitor it self doesn't have speakers. When I plug either my speakers or my headphones to the monitor I hear a high pitch sound. I think that's soil whine? I'm not sure. I tried plugging the speakers first then connecting the headphones to the speakers but same result. I tried switching to other DP but same. What can I do?
