  1. CMOS reset was the thing to do, thanks all for your support
  2. Mmmhhh, Thanks for the replies, no bad sound came from my PC. Since this day the only noticeable thing is this red led next to the CPU. My first try was to unplug anything on the card until I got a different result but it ended with just the MB without CPU SSD, GPU and even RAM removal was giving the same result That's why I asked my brother if I could use his computer to diagnose mine You are right, I have to figure out what is going on before asking me weird questions like : "Hey, if it's the MB then why would it work with his CPU ?" or "Is there a difference between his CPU and mine that could cause this error ?" I have checked on ark.intel.com : VTd + slightly higher frequencies are the only differences I will swap more components in order to get more precise results.
  3. Hello everybody, Config :: CPU: i5-4690K, MB: ASUS Z97-A Here is a problem I'm experiencing that is giving me hard times : Last week my PC stopped working, couldn't even access the BIOS. According to the red led on the MB, the CPU is in cause (yes, red is bad) I have tested my power supply (with a power supply tester) and everything was fine. I "stole" my brother PC which has quite the same config (CPU: i5-4670K, MB: ASUS Z97-A) and done bellow tests 2 times : his 4670K on my MB worked perfectly my 4690K on his MB worked too (WTF ??) I put my CPU back on my MB and got a red CPU led... His BIOS revision is more outdated than mine (v. 0604 VS v.1204) I suppose I'm missing something, how can I identify the faulty component ? I will try to update the BIOS on my MB to reach latest version but I'm not convinced it will change anything If someone has an advice (or even better, a solution) I would appreciate greatly
