used 1300d/1200d probably could go for that cheap - if paired with decent lens, it is a very good entrance combo
Those aren’t in my price range at all, my budget is $200 CAD

What’s your specs, cause that’s an older Intel mobo

Ok, where would I find that?

I’m looking to buy a camera under $200 CAD, what I need it to do is, shoot 1080p video, take decent pictures, would like to see if I could get a DSLR but doesn’t have to be one, easy to carry around. So what camera would make sense, my mom also has Canon so if I get a dslr from them I don’t need lenses.

That makes it sound more like a problem with the external hard drive than a specific problem with Steam. You should have no issues moving or copying files to/from the disk, and if you do, it's a bigger issue than having to redownload your games.
It does that sometimes though

If you start the download, then copy over the backup into the folder it creates for the game, then get Steam to check for local content, it should pick up the files and won't download the whole thing.
I try to do that, but my external HDD just stops to 0 bytes per second and the folder is 153gb

Im trying to re-download my steam games from my back up and theyre wanting to download completely, IM just wanting to get my games without having to redownload them, cause that'll be 3+ days waiting

eitherway you wanna do the project or you dont, you gonna need a new drive anyhow you wont be able to fix this.
also while we are at it since you want to make a portable PC you should get an SSD simply because vibrations dont hurt them.
for 150 bucks you will never ever be able to purchase the parts you need and have anything thats usable maybe a raspberry pi and some small display but thats it with the budget.
The laptop parts are from 2012 so I dont want to waste tons of money on it

Umm, yes it did. You just needed special cables. As for the hard drive, replacing the PCB is not usually a good idea. Every drive has it's own particular ways of doing something. Just get a new drive.
I dont wanna spend too much on the project though

Linus has used USB-powered displays in the past for his DIY Project WhatevertheheckRazernamedtheirtriplescreenlaptop, although those were pretty expensive(350 USD).
Yeah I thought of that but it doesnt have VGA or HDMI

Im looking to do a DIY project for a portable PC, I got a cheap laptop that has a 65w wall adapter, so I was wondering what display I can use that are relatively small and have both VGA and HDMI (HDMI is for consoles so I can switch between playing games and having a desktop), I do have a 300gb HDD but I need to get a new logic board for it but Im not sure how much the logic board's gonna cost me cause I'd like to do this on a $150 CAD budget, the HDD's pcb model number is JUE234N82434, or thats what I can see because they're is a scratch preventing me to see what is there, the HDD model number is HD321HJ made by Samsung. So what can I do to make this project possible?

In CS:GO I have compltely max beacuse I expected my comp to be able to handle that easily
and on AC4 I also maxed everything out exept the anti analysing
The higher the settings the lower FPS, but higher eye candy, what most pro's do in CS they lower the settings all the way, or thats what Ive learned

Whats wrong? I just checked it through Task manager so it might not be accurate
During CSGO what is the CPU and GPU usage at?

if it's USB then just copy partially, copy few games after it reach 300GB and copy the rest...
easy.
Again I don't get it what's the problem.
The games located in Steam>Steamapps folder.
It only took up 200gb instead

I really don't understand what you want.
First you say it's over LAN, and then you want to do it via USB.
Which one?
Im doing it over USB now, not LAN

400gb of games?
Yes

If you can set up a P2P connection or such, just drag the files over to the target and start the copying. Afterwards on the target PC, start Steam and set the copy destination as a Steam Library. You should now be good to play.
How do I setup a P2P connection?

Steam will compress them to at least some extent I'm pretty sure, how much stuff do you have?
Nearly 400gb, my external is 300gb, with some installers on it for new OS'

Why not over flash drive?
My external HDD isnt big enough or does it use all of the space the games take up
-

Use Steam's game backup feature
Ok, can I do that over LAN to my desktop?
Looking to get a camera that’s pretty good for my budget
