  1. Yeah so I installed it correctly. I'm back at optimal speeds so I believe. I guess the card is just not the way to go. I did exactly that, just left the heatsink on it and connected it to the second M.2. Now for future reference, instead of installing inside the MOBO, are there any good reliable cards that can achieve the optimal performance and make installing/swapping easier? @kokosnh @Blue4130
  2. The only issue rn is that I only need 1 ssd so why wouldn't it work at full performance? I wouldnt be adding more after this. I have enough storage as it is. I just don't want to remove my 3080 and plug it back in lol. But if I must, I will. The SSD also came with the heatsink (got it as a christmas present) my MOBO doesn't allow a heatsink to be attached as it already has one. So i would have to remove the heatsink off the SSD. I have my 970 EVO in the MOBO and 980 in the adapter. Finally, how do I only run as an SSD benchmark? change from Default->NVME SSD in crystaldiskmark?
  3. Okay if I have to end up switching I will.. Kind of a bummer. The card does have a switch on it, but that's for activating which M2's you'd like activated. Is there such a card where I can achieve what I'm looking for that you know of? I also thought for an M.2 (just 1 so far I would build up eventually) x4 4 is good enough?
  4. So I just will show the entire thing. Is this what you wanted or more specific?
  5. So I have my SSD connected to a Gigabyte GC-4XM2G4 Adapter on a ASUS ROG- STRIX x570-e gaming motherboard I have it in the last PCIE x4 GEN 4 slot. I was downloading things and it seemed a bit slow. So I used SAMSUNG Magician to benchmark it. As you can see my benchmarks are INSANELY slow. I downloaded the NVMe driver from Samsungs website. Things I've tried/done: Updated BIOS Forced PCIe slot to GEN 4 and x4 Downloaded drivers Turned on RAID mode in BIOS (not what I want I just want to use each ssd individually for now) SPECS: x570-E gaming MOBO RTX 3080 RYZEN 9 5900X I read in another post that SSD's run slow as they fill up and then speed up(?) If thats the case then great, but these speeds are very very slow. It's getting destroyed by my 970 EVO. I also am using the adapter because I would like to store all my SSD's in one card rather than having to take out a 3080 to put it in my mother board. Some NOTES: I have 2 SATA drives connected on 850 EVO's. AHCI SATA6_2 Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB, SATA6G_5: 850 EVO 250GB. Here is another post that also guides into what I was trying to achieve.
  6. Yes, but I believe its because it isn't filled? I'm not so sure. I have this connected to a https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GC-4XM2G4-Adaptor-Advanced-Solution/dp/B082DZ8HLT . I realize though as I have filled it the faster its ran. Honestly no idea and may just make a separate post about this.
  7. I was just going to make a post about this. Here are my reads so far using magician: its getting smoked by my 970 EVO. Is there a solution or a consensus? This is a literally brand new drive. Hopefully this is true in our case.
  8. Wow do i feel like a BIG dummy. That was it, i had it in the 4th m.2 so it didnt read it lol.... I thought top was 1. Thank you!
  9. Specs are as follows: ASUS Strix X570-E https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-x570-e-gaming-model/ SSD I am trying to connect: SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2_1 = SAMSUNG 970 Evo M.2_2 = blank (new ssd has a heatsink on it i got it for christmas trying to work with it) EDIT: looking at BIOs it says AHCI SATA6_2 Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB, SATA6G_5: 850 EVO 250GB Note: i do have 2 sata ssd's connected. I am not sure what slot but i dont think they interfere( kinda newby on this) The adapter is Gigabyte AORUS Gen4 AIC GC-4XM2G4 for reference, see here: https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GC-4XM2G4-Adaptor-Advanced-Solution/dp/B082DZ8HLT I know my motherboard supports this. My 3080 blocks the second pcie slot so i cant use that one. I have the adapater connected to the 3rd PCI-E slot and it runs at 4x which upon my research i know is perfect for what im trying to do. In the BIOs settings raid mode is set to off, i dont want raid mode i just want to use these ssd's as they are but if i want to add more later, I know i have x amount of slots left. So far on the switch i am running at 0/0 because I only have 1 M.2 connected in the adapter currently. Currently I run the adapter with nothing on it as the SSD I recieved for christmas has a heatsink attached already, reference: https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/memory-storage/solid-state-drives/980-pro-w-heatsink-pcie-4-0-nvme-ssd-2tb-mz-v8p2t0cw/?cid=pla-ecomm-pfs-mms-us-google-na-03042022-170119-&ds_e=GOOGLE-cr:0-pl:267548417-&ds_c=FF~Memory+PMax_CN~Memory+PMax_ID~B0000PWD_PH~on_MK~us_BS~ms_PR~ecom_SB~memcross_FS~hqloe_CA~smp_KS~nag_MT~na-&ds_ag=-&ds_k=&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAs6-sBhBmEiwA1Nl8s4VR2hg9klOTIgHrknC6ayqsHb0OuMaXoN8ez9SKSgFo6nDEH4DZoxoCpJcQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds please help. I just want to solve this.
  10. Thanks yeah I thought I saw something like this when I first got the chip. I wanted to make sure. It doesn’t break 80c. Glad I’m just over thinking it. Especially like you said it’s running hot even with a pc that’s fully liquid cooled. Calmed my nerves lol.
  11. As the title says, I have an AIO that runs 280mm fans and it’s still running hot when playing games. My friend just got an nzxt and plays games at 50/60c. (He has an i7 9900k though) Apex is 80 and CSGO is at 75, while streaming as well but I use my 3080 to stream. NVEC. So my cpu usage is low at like 3-4%. I idle again about 50/60. This is aggravating. I even have 3 280mm fans in the case. Can anyone help? Radiator is up top as exhaust. Lian Li case, side fans are intake, back fan is exhaust. I don’t get it. Fans are my worst enemy. pic of my pc. You can see the fans. I’ll take a pic later when I get out of work so you can see better if needed. side note: before I got off I was able to get my pc to 48c without streaming last night. if I’m overthinking the temps pls lmk if not please help me fix :/
  12. Yes I bought everything and can say was different at first, but I'm used to it now. HUGE difference between the shit gaming headset vs these. I can actually hear footsteps to my right/left or any direction. When it comes to music I always have true base and power match on. Works like a charm man. Sounds very nice, just need to get to the wired because I've gotten up a few times without taking off my headset but it sounds great!
  13. Shit yeah, thank you for all your help. These headphones do look sick and ill check if they are available through US. Im sure amazon or something has them no way they can possibly be region locked headphones haha
  14. I see, okay so I’ll need this DAC/Amp and the headphones and I should be good? I’m so used to USB headsets haha. But I’ll look into this stuff. Now the external sound card. You put that into the PCIE slot like the smaller one?
  15. We are always looking for the upgrade but some things I dont understand because I've never heard of them. I never knew audio was so complex! But Im not sure what these are : my mic currently is the blue yeti!
