  1. Hey guys, I was going to try to paint the red fan plastic of the MSi GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X. What kind of paint and paint procedure should I use on the red plastic? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  2. Also, is there usually much of an FPS increase on 1080 ti's when OCing? I think I'm getting the hang of it, thanks. Basically I'm trying to try to see if I can get the Witcher 3 running on max settings at 60fps 4k (probably not possible, but just wanted to see).
  3. Ah thanks.Would windowed mode be any different to fullscreen mode? I've heard that fullscreen is better because it prioritises the fullscreen application over other processes. Or would it not make a difference at all? Edit: Nevermind, silly question
  4. I restarted the computer when I put the Gaming App into OC mode (forgot to do that), and this is the maximum I was able to achieve: Haven't tried the Firestrike yet (still downloading)
  5. Yeah, using Afterburner. I'll give Firestrike a go, thanks
  6. It's a Corsair AX1200i PSU, and it runs the benchmark without OC
  7. Hey guys, I'm trying to overclock my MSi 1080 ti Gaming X Trio, but the problem is that if I increase it from default by any more than 10 points for core clock and memory clock it'll crash the Superposition benchmark. Will I ever get anything more than but a 10-point increase, or is there a fix I can try to do? This is my first OC attempt so I have very little knowledge on it. Specs: -MSi GTX 1080 Ti -32GB DDR4 2400MHz -Intel Core i7 6850K -MSi X99A GODLIKE Gaming Carbon Motherboard -Intel 750 400GB PCI-E SSD -AX1200i PSU Let me know if you need any other information thanks.
  8. I've always wondered how GPUs and CPUs will end up in 20 years or so, but there's only so much you can do with the CPUs and GPUs before you have to increase their size or change the way they compute for a faster and more compact method. What will be the next step for both CPUs and GPUs?
  9. So I feel like having only one of these and wanting to sell one of them. Both have their benefits and disadvantages (see specs below), but I'm having a hard time figuring out which one to keep. My main criteria is which one is more future-proof but they both seem competent. What's everyone's thoughts? Laptop specs (ASUS ROG Scar II GL504GV): -144Hz 1080p screen -RTX 2060 -32GB DDR4 2666MHz -Intel Core i7 8750H -M.2 512GB SSD Desktop specs: -60Hz 4K display (it stays/goes with the desktop) -MSi GTX 1080 Ti -32GB DDR4 2400MHz -Intel Core i7 6850K -MSi X99A GODLIKE Gaming Carbon -Intel 750 400GB PCI-E SSD
  10. Ah ok cool, I'll check it out. Thanks for the help What's the link to the review?
  11. There were Scorptec and PCCaseGear but they recently discontinued it (Scorptec just discontinued it today funnily enough), so MWave was the next best thing to go to. The Infinity has a 17.3" display, which is too big for me. Does the Metabox have a 144Hz screen?
  12. Not too much of a preference, but the 15.6" is the biggest I'll go for. or battery life, if it lasts for at least 3 hours that's alright (assuming it can last longer if it's in a non-gaming state e.g. Word or PowerPoint). The website I'm looking at buying it from is this: https://www.mwave.com.au/product/asus-rog-strix-scar-ii-gl504gv-156-144hz-gaming-laptop-i7-16gb-512gb-rtx2060-ac21002?gclid=CjwKCAjw8-LnBRAyEiwA6eUMGlNwMlmbKdhGx7yelKEKBQmu8zXe1n4TIjWutF0lW-Aul3SyosNUHBoCHyAQAvD_BwE I talked with the representative and they said this one has 2x8GB RAM
  13. I'm getting this in a week but I'm not sure if there's a better laptop for the same price (AUD $2,200). Specs: - Intel Core i7-8750H - 16GB 2666MHz RAM (from the advertisement it seems to be dual-channel, and I assume it's) - 144Hz 1920x1080p IPS screen - RTX 2060 6GB DDR6 - 256GB NVME - 1TB Firecuda HDD I'm mainly after a 144Hz screen and an RTX series card. Is this a recommended laptop for around this price? If not, what would be a better choice? Thanks
  14. Ah ok. Well I'm fine with it, and if not then I can always just put it back to native resolution if worst comes to worst.
  15. How so? It seems fine to me when I play lower res versions (in windowed mode) of games on my current monitor. It's a 4K monitor however it's an Acer XB280HK and so I can't overclock it or change the native resolution.
  16. My budget is probably around $800 AUD. As for overclocking a monitor I can overclock it using NVidia settings with my TV from 60hz to 75hz, but I can't notice much of a difference so I'm looking for one that can do 100hz if it's possible.
  17. Hi guys, so I'm looking for a 4K monitor that can overclock to at least 100hz when it's at a lower resolution (For example 1080p or 1440p). I don't have the money to buy a 120- or 144hz 4K monitor, however I want to play games at high framerates and watch movies and other things at high resolutions. Are there any monitors that can do such thing? If not, what's the next best thing you can recommend?
  18. I have Corsair LL140 fans. Is there a possibility of something else being able to connect the 350 to the motherboard? I preferably don't want to buy another RGB kit.
  19. Hi guys, so I have a Deepcool 350 RGB strip lighting kit, and an MSI X99A GODLIKE Gaming Carbon motherboard. The motherboard has no RGB headers, and I'm getting a Corsair Commander Pro for my RGB fans. I want to hook up the Deepcool 350 to my motherboard through the Commander Pro, however the ports on the Pro and the 350 are different. Is there a way or some other adapter that'll allow me to connect and control the 350 through my computer (not a remote)? Thanks
  20. Yeah, it's got one HDMI port. I'm thinking of getting a HDMI splitter but I'll see how it goes
  21. Hi guys, I'm wanting to buy a (Dell UltraSharp U2718Q 27" 4K UHD HDR IPS LED InfinityEdge) monitor, and I was wondering if it's possible to overclock it? I've currently got an Acer XB280HK and it doesn't like any changes in refresh rate (lower or higher than 60Hz). I want to have an overclock-able monitor at roughly 75Hz but nothing other $800AUD. Also, I'm going to be using it with my Switch, XBox and PC. Is it a good choice for consoles (can't find a small 4K TV)? Thanks
  22. Like that, but I'm looking for a 'tower'
  23. I found this one, but I'm not sure if that's ok: https://www.amazon.com/FosPower-Battery-Charging-Readers-Adapter/dp/B01D0C0DC4?th=1
