  1. Ultra-wide is crap for dota 2 and csgo. They don't support the resolution - the hud isn't scaled. I play those games at 1080p and most other newer games at 2560x1080 (I have the exact same monitor). Tbh I think its great but others say its better off going for 1440p.
  2. Hi, I just got the audioengine A5+ speakers, S8 sub and D1 DAC, and I was wondering how they should be connected together. Thanks.
  3. Thanks man, i'll have a look at them tomorrow. I've seen linus' videos but there are so many...lmao. I'll have another squizz tonight. Yea cable management is going to be hard, my brother did mine in the first build. True i guess you have the right order, but 4x8 is 8x4???? lmao Yeah no worries, excuse the dust. Stopped cleaning it 2 years ago.
  4. Hi, So it has been a solid 6 years since my last build and my pc is an old dog now. Just finished buying my parts, some of which are a bit overkill because I intended on buying a 980ti but that was scraped. I got a 970 instead, with a plan to give to one of my m8s once nvidia drops their new things in 2016. Hoping this will last me another 6 years! Anyway just need some tips over the next few days while I put this together (defos gonna lose my shit at some point). Parts list: Cpu: i7-6700k Mobo: rog hero Ram: G-skill 32gb (8x4) @ 2400mhz Storage: 500gb Samsung 850 evo / Seagate 2tb cuda Vid: Asus 970 Psu: Evga 750 G2 Case: 450d Cooling: H100i / 2 x jetflo 120's (red) not sure about these - gonna ditch them if they're too noisy / 3 x sp120 quiets Misc: Tp-link archer wifi card, Cablemod red & black cable kit, 2 x icemodz white led strips + fan hub. Peripherals: Corsair strafe rgb w/ mx browns keyboard | Corsair sabre RGB mouse (already in use) / Audioengine A5+ | S8 Sub | D1 dac (hopefully getting delivered before christmas day X)/ LG29" ultrawide monitor (already in use) Day 1 (planning for tomorrow): -So I need to get a screwdriver and other things from the hardware store tomorrow. Suggestions - Ratchet or just standard magnetic tip phillips head? -I probably need a reference vid to use while i'm building. -Do I need a anti static wrist strap? -Plan to build in my kitchen because my room has carpet.. Good idea? -Advice? Thanks.
  5. I got mine on special from mwave a couple weeks ago for $139. Tbh they are a pretty good headset. They are light and comfy and they don't suffocate your head which is gr8 in aus (fkn 40 degree days twice in two weeks...) I prefer the mic over the big boom thing on the sennheiser ones but idk about sound quality in comparison. They aren't as good as my m50x's but are gr8 with games.
  6. yea i saw that in the specs, just wondering what Linus said in his vid would be a problem?
  7. Hi, just referencing Linus' video on the 450d (@4.20) he states that his 105 AIO doesn't fit with his mobo. I recently purchased a rog hero for the z170 chipset and was wondering if anyone knows if the h100i gtx will work with it in my 450d? Thanks.
  8. ^ That looks good, but I might opt for the shine zero because the keyboard+the wrist rest+shipping goes over my budget.
  9. How are red switches for typing, aren't they really reactive?
  10. Hi, i've got about $150-$170 (aus) to spend on a mechanical keyboard. I don't play that many games, but I do type a lot for uni and other stuff. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=113_1276&zenid=9289c81abeb45f25b875ffa44ebdb658 http://www.mwave.com.au/input-devices/keyboards?filter=195%3Dyes&filteroptions=195%3Dmechanical Purchasing from one of the above stores (excuse the extortionate australian pricing). My friend recommended the Razer BW Ultimate, but I would like a wrist rest. I prefer backlighting (don't care about the colour) and I don't care about macro keys. Any input would be great, thanks.
