  1. It's an HP Pavilion HPE h9. It was just given to me for free and noe clue of previous condition. I installed a GPU and installed Windows and everything was fine. When it booted or prompted me every restart to plug in the rear chassis fan. I did this with the computer powered on and suddenly it just shut down. Now when I press the power button nothing happens. No lights, no spinning fans, no nothing. I've tried resetting CMOS and tried another PSU with no results. It's completely dead. I assumed maybe the button itself was faulty but after disassembling the top and following the wires it plugs into a 3 pin connector (haven't seen that before) and i tried shorting the pins but no luck. I think the PSU killed the mobo, but i hope that's not the case. Any suggestions on what to try nexf?
  2. I feel kinda stupid now not thinking about that, wow (Btw pardon my spell-checking, god damn school laptop with no anti-ghosting)
  3. You're right about the ram - iv'e gotten 2 for free, and he has 22x more and wants 30 bucks a piece - (i got them for free while i worked there for a school prject - i pop by there and literally get free hardware, and good serverhardware for a fraction of what it's worth)
  4. Iv'e got a kingston 240gb ssd, iv'e got 4 of them in different rigs/laptops. Great price/performance.
  5. I've done that. That ends up at about 2000-2300 bucks (Using a 6900k as CPU) I know i can't expect anything at that price, the ES xeon just makes assuming price hard.
  6. damn norwegian pc prices, damn Only one shop that carries this mobo, 370 bucks
  7. Just out of curiosity, where do you get those cheap x99e/itx board prices? I literally paid 450 bucks for it 6 months ago (not trying to be ignorant)
  8. I can not find such a chep x99 board/memory/980ti on ebay? then my pc wasnt that cheap after all
  9. Im thinking about selling my main computer as i want funds for my motorcycle license (it's expensive af here in Norway) and just use my secondary pc. What do you guys think my main rig is worth? Keep in mind i didn't even pay anything remotely close to full price for this rig, the ram was free (got it from a server that died at my dads work) 250 bucks for the cpu from a friend, 400 bucks for the gpu, free 2tb hdd, 100 bucks for the ssd and the rest was full-price. The value of the computer if everything was not engineering samples etc would have been like 4 -4,5 grand The CPU is an engineering sample, Xeon e5 2667 v4, basically a 6900k. Some cooler-master watercooler 64GB Micron DDR4 ECC Memory That itx x99 board from ASRock 240gb ssd kingston Some junk 2tb 2.5 hdd i found at my dads work recycling bin MSI 980ti (barely fits) r g fucking b (Im planning to use my secondary rig for gaming, its 2x xeon x5675, 48gb ecc and a msi 780 that i'll probably replace.)

  15. heyo! i 4 x5675 xeons, and i am looking to build 2 workstations to sell I also have A LOT of ecc memory, so that would be a bonus. i have looked at the board, ASUS Z8NA-D6. Its a atx dual socket board, and this generation of xeons have the ram controller built in, so i SHOULD support ecc right? Can anybody confirm this? if i doesen't i really would loose a lot of my budget
