  1. So as the title suggest I am wanting to game with a friend currently in Canada for about 2 years. I am in the UK and before he left I sorted him an HP 840 G3 for standard Netflix and accessing my Plex server etc. But the poor Intel HD 520 struggles with most games. He has got Dungeon Siege 2 to run OK but multiplayer servers are shut down now. I'm looking to try and source a rig that he could potentially use just for light gaming, not fussed on 60fps across AAA titles at all just some older games. Potentially running Diablo III and maybe at a push Divinity original sin 2. He is coming back to the UK for a week in April and I have a R7 260x that he can take back with him so would probably be just the main unit, monitor, mouse and keyboard. Any and all help is appreciated
  2. Thanks guys I probably should have mentioned Software licences aren't needed either as I still have my 10 Pro x64 from the old build
  3. Hello all, Very recently started watching the Linus channel and felt this was one of the better places to come for advice. After a recent house fire my hand has been forced to finally put some cash into a new build. There are so many options and I just can't decide on the best for my budget So the spec. I am looking for a build in the UK on a budget of £1000 for gaming at 1080p possibly 4k depending on the monitor I finally decide on. I also run a media server from the same machine and a VM for my in-laws accessing from a Pi3. So what do I have already well surprisingly my SSD survived the fire and sitting in water for 2 weeks before I could recover it and pull ALL of my data from it! (highly recommend the Sandisk Ultra II sata3 240GB) I also have the rest of my storage covered from an old server so no need for drives. I also am not including peripherals in this budget! As they are covered as separate items from the insurance. I am currently stuck with going for a 27" 4k monitor or a 34" ultra wide 1080p but if anyone has ideas or recommendations for a compromise between the two it is also appreciated Thanks in advanced for all advice and tips EDIT: would prefer Intel with Nvidia and have very small lenience in the budget
