I am in the same boat, I am currently teaching myself. When i was asking around and researching I kept coming back to this book: https://www.amazon.com/Learn-Python-Hard-Way-Introduction/dp/0321884914/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1490799912&sr=8-1&keywords=learning+python+the+hard+way I started not to long ago, I am on like chapter 20. However it is really helpful. I tried the whole Lynda.com thing and just didn't like it. However that is another option.

I am constantly searching craigslist in my community and can't find anything like Linus and Luke do in Scrapyard wars. I'm curious, has anyone built a computer solely from used parts found on craigslist or Facebook marketplace. If so, are they decent PC's? I am a technology lover however I have never built a computer (even though I have followed LTT since the NCIX days). Is a scrapyard wars scenario practical to do a first time build?
