  1. Installing manually is not an issue. When I log in with my account, I have these options: Either one of the 2 just takes me to this: No trail even. Taking another route (signing out of office first...) I get this link: After being forced to sign in, I'm forced to give credit card details before being presented with the download link:
  2. Good day, I have an odd question. I'm looking for a legal way of installing office on multiple machines without paying for a licence, - hear me out: I'm an application specialist scripting automated liquid handlers (not a programmer, but have to deal with some programming. The software we use needs some APIs or DLLs from the office suite but doesn't need to open and edit files. So the plan is to install Office, but not activate it. The only way I know of doing this is by logging in with an account, giving them my credit card details and then cancelling. I would like to avoid giving them my credit card details for client machines. Any ideas? Thanks.
  3. Geez, I just moved the tumb drive from the rear port (that has given me some issues in the past) to a front port. I find it hard to believe that this could be the solution, but it seems to work now...
  4. Awsome thanks, I used the windows media creation tool, and forgot about Rufus, thanks for the reminder!
  5. UEFI and secure boot is enabled, with TMP I just have the 2 options > Discrete vs Firmware, no 1.0 or disabled options available. XMP is disabled only for Windows installation to increase stability, a suggestion made by JayzTwoCents, I plan to reenable it after installing win 11
  6. Hi, I want to update my old Samsung Evo 250GB SSD (Main drive running Win11, upgraded from 10) to a new 2TB Samsung 980 Pro. I want to do a fresh install of Win11. No other hardware chanced. The new drive has been initialized with a GPT partition (new volume) and upgraded to the latest firmware, rev 5-something using Samsung magician. Drive health and benchmarking looks good. The Bios on my Asus Z370A has been updated to the latest version 3004, Multicore enhancement > Disabled, XMP>Disabled, TPM > Firmware TPM. Now I get the error: "This PC can't run Windows 11" What could be wrong here, this PC ran win11 before, the only thing that changed is the SSD and a bios update? I tried "discrete TPM", but the system just restarts twice and auto-reverts back to firmware TPM - obviously. Also tried enabling XMP and multicore enhancement just in case to reduce variables. Thanks
  7. I've disabled Virtualization-Based Security as suggested, it was on. Screenshots while Cinebench is running (no log was available after closing):
  8. Am I correct in assuming these write speeds are super low? I did some reading and it looks like the Crucial P2 3D NVMe PCIe M.2 is a D-RAM-less SSD (terrible I know, but I'm stuck with it). But are these speeds normal for this specific type of SSD?
  9. That is correct yes, was updated from Win10 via Windows update... O dear, I would like to avoid a fresh install. But that sounds like the best option.
  10. Good idea, but seems this is already on by default. Last retrim was 5 days ago and the slow down has been since the last couple of weeks/months
  11. Cinebench R23 multicore score is 2048, single core is 811. Note the settings used, I have no idea if this is correct, I just used defaults after install.
  12. Hi, I need assistance with a suspected slow laptop. System information: Processor i5-10210U Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.6 GB usable) MTA8ATF1G64HZ-3G2 SSD: Crucial P2 3D NVMe PCIe M.2 1TB-R 883z System type: 64-bit OS version: Windows 11 Pro, 22H2, build 22621.1992 Experience Pack: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22644.1000.0 The Bios version is unknown but updated recently. First, I need a suggestion of good benchmarking software to run as well as how (suggested settings - this is normally where I get lost), and then, performance scores to expect. I will then report back and we can take the troubleshooting from there. Please sugest software+settings+scores for CPU, RAM and SSD. Thanks.
  13. Hi, I'm a hobbyist when it comes to electronics. Here is the situation. We have severe load shedding in South Africa, which means that the power grid switches completely off for 2-4 hours, 2-6 times per day. I have a 2kW pure sinewave inverter trolley system as backup power. It's not big, but good enough for critical appliances. Appliance A and appliance B can't run at the same time or else the inverted will overload. And people keep forgetting to manually plug A back into the grid when the grid is on. B is almost constantly running and always on the inverter. My plan is to build a changeover switch. The switch needs to operate as follows: - During load shedding, the operator needs to push a button to switch appliance A over to the inverter (Double pole double throw) - When load shedding ends and the grid gets energized, the swithc needs to automatically switch back to the grid. Any sugesttions? I was thinking of using an AC-AC relay but can't find a relay with an AC coil in my area. Only DC coils. Unless I'm searching for the wrong name. EDIT: The grid is 230VAC, Max load expected on the switch will be 2000W or 8-10 amps.
  14. According to this link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/232128/intel-core-i713700h-processor-24m-cache-up-to-5-00-ghz/specifications.html the 13700H mobile processor was already released. However I can't seem to find any laptops with one, or any pending releases. Does anyone have more information?
