  1. I am looking into buying the Latitude E7450. 8 GB RAM 256 GB SSD, i5 5300U. The machine comes with a Mini DisplayPort 1.2 connector and HD 5500 iGPU. The question is whether it can do 4K at 60hz with a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0 adapter into a 4K TV with hdmi 2.0a? Or will I need the dock for that?
  2. Slightly used or new old stock is actually preferred. Budget is whatever it needs to be. But I just don’t want to go overkill. Keyboard quality is of somewhat minor importance. I find all business class laptops to have much higher quality switches than any consumer grade laptops (aside from some nice gaming laptops I’ve tried). The keyboard on my Latitude and my buddies T470s are both excellent. Trackpad quality is important though. Need a predictable, reliable finger tracking. I don’t use the trackpoint BTW. Also, I’m willing to upgrade to an SSD and reinstall Windows myself. So getting a laptop with an archaic hard disk is not an issue if it’s upgradeable.
  3. I’m looking for a business-class laptop for school and work. I insist on business class for the quality, support, and warranty. I don’t want a consumer grade or gaming laptop. Won’t be doing anything too intensive, but will be doing heavy multitasking in multiple office documents, lots of internet tabs, pdf viewers, music, etc... Will also need the ability to output 4K at 60hz to a TV at work for PowerPoint slideshows, YouTube vids, etc... No gaming or rendering photos... I may also need to run a 4K tv and 1080p monitor at the same time at some point. So a docking station/laptop combo with multi monitor support at high resolutions is a must. I would appreciate a fairly color accurate built in display (IPS/OLED), a high capacity battery with a fast charging rate, quality durable hinges, good water resistance, and a plethora of ports. DP, HDMI, VGA, tons of USB, possibly thunderbolt and USB-C. The more the better. I’m willing to buy a docking station for that and I need to know which model... I did own a Latitude with a 6th gen i3, SSD, and 8GB RAM. I found the processor was slightly underpowered for multitasking as it only had 2 cores. Would frequently spike to 100% with multiple low-load productivity apps running at once. The other issue was even though the iGPU had 4K 60hz support, the actual HDMI port was only version 1.4 so I was limited to 30hz. I sold the laptop before trying a docking station. Budget is whatever I need to spend. But I’m not looking at going overkill either. Maybe an entry level Dell Precision with a lower end dedicated GPU and an older gen quad core or something like that? Please help me with my shopping. Thanks...
  4. Im looking to replace my stock wraith spire cooler with a better cooler. The stock cooler was quiet for the first couple weeks, but has already developed an annoying faint clicking noise, even during idle. My most important consideration is lowest possible idle noise. I am planning on doing some mild/modest overclocking, but Im not hell bent on squeezing every last bit of performance. Im looking to spend between $30-$80 USD, preferably as cheap as possible to get the job done. The problem is there are not too many AM4 cooler choices out there. Im looking at the Hyper 212, Cryorig H7, Noctua U12S, or possibly even a cheap AIO liquid cooler. The reason im considering liquid is that I could potentially replace my rear exhaust fan with the AIO, which would effectively double as an exhaust fan. Not ideal cooling, I know. But idle noise is the priority for me. Would this make the system overall quieter because of less fans? Or should I just go with the H7, which seems to fare well in the noise department? The H7 would certainly be a cheaper route and best price to performance. But Im thinking that springing for an entry level AIO might get me slightly better temps and possibly more quiet to boot, since there will be one less fan in the system. Although there is the pump noise. Which setup would be overall quieter? If I do go liquid, I need a budget model with lowest possible idle noise, would fit in my Fractal XL R2, a good quality pump that wont burn out or start leaking 2 years down the road. Ive seen alot of cheaper models burn up quick.... Since Im not too knowledgable about liquid cooling, I need your help on figuring out AM4 compatibility as well as identifying the reliable and quiet budget offerings.
