  1. im thinking about using a 300W pico psu, are they reliable ? additionally, would you advice against chaining two psu's or is it fine (spesifically one 300W pico and one 100W/200W pico :P)?
  2. For the PSU i'm currently thinking about chaining two pico psu's (one of 300W and another of 100W) although i'm really not sure weather or not this is a good idea , what do you think ? I need to get my hands on a unit to see how and if everything will fit (the motherboard, either one or two SSD's, and the GPU). I also found another cooler for the 1060 by ARCTIC but it's much thicker so i don't think id'll fit that way ?
  3. Hi everybody, So sadly my old pc is starting to chugg down on me (had it for almost 5 years now) and i've been thinking about an upgrade path. As I don't use my pc for much else than studying (math major) and the occasional game (i'm mostly a console peasant :P) I started to look for relible parts on a tight budget. After some searching I couldn't actually find any cases that I like, until today ! As an homage to my first system, i've decided to build the thing inside a FAT ps2 . My only inner debate now is will everything fit in such a small case... I'm thinking about ordering the case off ebay and mesuring everything myself (about 10 eur) so I can get a feeling of size, but it would be really helpful if someone who already owns the console (sadly mine died many moons ago) could tell me if he thinks it can actually fit in there / how big it actually is once you take the disk drive out. Not sure what im actually going to fit in there but I'm thinking about: CPU: I'll wait and see about the new Ryzen 5 but if its a spoof than I'll go with the I5-7500 Cooler: whatever I can possibly fit in there. possibly this one due to high reviews but i'll need to check clearence first. Ram: 16 GB low profile ram Power supply: I literally have no clue, did not think that far GPU: I want to take out the disk tray and instead shove a GPU with a PCI extension cable, and drill vents into the chasis for fresh air. possibly this one Storage: I have a 500GB SSD that i'm gonna use it should be plenty (I have my pc for 5 years and i still havent filled it ) Motherboard: No clue, need to check if there's room for a mini-ITX at least or I have no idea what to do This is pretty much it. As i said i plan to strip all the insides out, put the new motherboard where the old one was, and put the new gpu where the disk drive used to be. This is gonna be my first actual mod and I'm really siked for it. What do you think ? will everything actually fit ? Suggestions, tips etc. from more experienced builders would be great ! thanks in advance ! Mi old console ^^
