  1. I see, I guess overclocking the cpu could help aleviate some bottleneck then?
  2. I have an r5 1600 which is over 2 years old at the moment. My GPU is an amd RX470 which is also at least 4 years old. I have a 2K monitor so I was looking to upgrade into a gpu which can run games at 2k with decent framerates. I was looking at something like an RTX3070 which seemed good for its price, but I am not sure if my 1600 will be able to keep up or if i will have to upgrade a cpu as well. My chipset is x370 which I think supports 3rd gen ryzens with a bios update. Other specs in the system: 16GB (2 x 8 ) Corsair vengeance lpx @ 3000mhz , 750W PSU, 1TB HDD, 60GB SSD, 4 corsair fans for case ventilation,
  3. I am going to be taking my PC to the UK soon . Both my monitor and my PSU use EU plugs though. I bought an EU to UK adapter which says is earthed/grounded and has a fuse (13A). It also doesn't convert any voltage (250V) and its maximum wattage is 3250W (which i assume should be a lot more than what my pc and monitor would ever take). I am planning on using an extension cord to connect to the adaptor and use while in the UK. My power supply is a Corsair RM750X. I read that EU-UK have small voltage differences which don't require a voltage adapter. Is this going to be a safe option? I am really clueless on electronics/power consumption etc, so if any additional information is required i am happy to provide. Thanks in advance
  4. Ah i see this explains a lot. I will try seeing if the HDD is dead and see if it is worth repairing it or getting another one. You are right by the way this is an old machine and it has been seeing much usage the past months so it makes sense its presenting problems. Thanks a lot for the suggestions though and sorry for replying this late.
  5. I have a Del Latitude E6530 which about 2 weeks ago starting presenting problems with its battery. At first the battery would not last more than 1 hour , later the battery stopped charging altogether. An error message would pop up on startup saying that the charger adapter is unknown and that's why the battery doesn't charge. The on-board diagnostics showed that "the battery is on the end of its lifetime" which made me wonder if its the off brand charger or the battery not working? Few days later after using the laptop only when plugged in , i accidentally pulled the plug and the laptop shut down. Windows got corrupted/broke and none of the troubleshooting options worked. So i decided to reinstall windows seeing it was the only choice. But after trying to reinstall windows using a USB flash drive at first the installation would reach the HDD partition selection and it wouldn't show any options. After changing the SATA configuration from RAID to AHCI it would show the partitions. Selecting the primary partition or any partition really wouldn't work as it just showed an error message and stopped the installation. Deleting/formatting the partitions did the same thing. So is there any solution to these 2 problems and are they connected at all? I don't mind having to use it plugged in for now but i really need to fix the windows installation as i need the laptop for work. Any ideas?
  6. Huawei Mate 10 Lite IPS display Used a random charger i can give you the details if needed Probably yes will check (i don't know whats up with the bold)
  7. So yesterday after returning home my phone was at 0% i put it to charge and wake up 7 hrs later and my phone is burning hot.(note i used the same charger i always use and i always have my phone charge overnight with no problems) i unplug it and after it cools down everything seems to be working normally, but i noticed that whatever my phone was displaying at the time i could barely see a very dim image of the alarm clock snooze button ( and the rest of the window that opens up when an alarm rings) . Yes there were alarms set to ring which i missed . When taking screenshots the alarm image doesn't show up but stays stationary in the center which makes me think its purely physical and not something wrong with the software ( could be wrong). Any ideas what that is, how it happened , how can i fix it and prevent it from happening again?
  8. Thanks for the help. I wanted to see some opinions on this as my friend is not informed on the natter and is insecure about his pc dying and wasting money.
  9. Friend just bought monster hunter world on pc and is having trouble cause he has a gt 640 gpu. Wants to upgrade, we recommended him a 1050ti however he has an old/crappy/untrustworthy 470w power supply. I was afraid that the psu could pose a problem. Other specs are an i7-3770 8gigs ram. Is the psu going to handle it or is there a chance that problems will occur?
  10. My house is less than 15 yo so i guess it will work fine but it is also quite expensive
  11. i was also looking into powerline connection but many people say they get disconnection issues oftenly. and they are more expensive, it is also possible to use an ethernet cable but it would have to go through one door and be 10m long which is also a bad choice
  12. It is just a crappy cheap dongle from a nobody company which is why i think it is just broken now. i have been using it for a year now
  13. My wifi adapter keeps disconnecting from my network saying no wifi networks were found (there are 5-10 networks including mine in the wifi range) I unplug it and then replug it and works sometimes. other times it just disconects and refuses to go back on for more than 5 minutes. i tried to update the drivers from windows but nothing fixed the issue. i just want to throw this away now but i wanted to see if there is anythign else i can try
  14. Thanks for the help! I appreciate it! Now it works fine!
  15. So i am now changing each graphics setting one by one. It appears that MSAA is killing my fps from 62 stable to fluctuating from 30-58 Does that have to do with my hardware or is it bad optimazation?Or is it just how strong my gpu is?
