  1. You obviously can't read. He said NO ULTRAWIDES.

  3. After doing more research no 10xx card will run 4k 144hz. Even the 2080ti won't be able to people are saying. If dual 1080tis aren't able to break 100hz with 4k it won't happen on one.
  4. Interesting, why did that article say it didn't? I see that in the specs now.
  5. NO 10XX can run a 4k 144hz monitor due to not having displayport 1.4 connections. Read under connectivity. https://www.144hzmonitors.com/reviews/asus-rog-swift-pg27uq-review/
  6. No video card in the 10xx series can run a 4k 144hz gsync monitor. It requires DisplayPort 1.4.
  7. Help me find a monitor. I currently use a Dell U3415W for my daily tasks and gaming. But since it is only 60hz, I would like to at least double that for my gaming needs. I love the clarity of this screen, so I want to try and not lose that. Size wise, minimum 27" but up from there, but I also don't want to play panel lottery. I already have tried the Dell S2716 a year ago, and the banding on that thing was terrible. Won't make that mistake again. No budget. Want the best. I just spent $3k on my gaming system. Monitor I won't be cheap on. I have a Asus Strix 1080ti OC with my i7-8700k machine. Obviously the 4k 144hz Asus is out, as no 10xx card can run it.Or should I wait a few months for other new one to come out?
  8. First I heard of this with failing to get 5ghz on maximus boards....links or anything on that?
  9. I ordered the Code already but can overnight the Strix for my build. I was told the Code is overkill for what I need. What are your personal thoughts? I saw the differences on Asus.com but wanted peoples opinions. The Code has more USB ports for sure. I will be having a 8700k on it with a 1080ti Strix OC card.
  10. Canceled that Dell I ordered and decided going to build a new system. So Ryzen or Intel? And what boards are good these days?
  11. Noise really wasn't an issue (which I don't believe I ever mentioned) but making the office get up to 85 degrees didn't feel too comfortable. Lol
  12. To a point. I need to sell the MBP before I fork out another 2-3k though.
  13. I am unsure what direction to go here. I very rarely play many games, but the specs I need for other things I do (video editing, etc) I need some pretty stout specs. I bought 3 months ago a MacBook Pro 15" 2017 model, with i7 2.9ghz, 16gb, 512gb ssd, touchbar, apple care plus. Almost $3k later, it has twice on me gotten the O/S corrupted from just a reboot and I had to reinstall. I am so fed up with it. It seems its a common issue with High Sierra. I have it hooked up to a CalDigit TS3 dock, that runs my Dell U3415W Ultrawide Curved monitor. So, with that, I am either switching back to a Windows based laptop that can is light and powerful and around the same size as the above and can run my external monitor too and possibly do some light gaming with Call of Duty titles, or Battlefield ones. I am unsure if my DOCK will work with the new laptop, so that is optional and I can get something else if needed after I sell it. Also, I could go back to building a gaming rig again (my last one had an i7-7700k, and it was a beast. Really heated up this room which was one of the reasons I got rid of it. To afford this build or laptop, I would have to sell the MBP most likely. I do have an iPAd Pro 10.5 I rarely use, and having a tablet/laptop would be nice if there is one that can do it. The Surface Book 2 is an option, but it seems confusing to figure out if I can get what I want out of it, and if it's going to be reliable for what I need. Let me know all your thoughts and recommendations and from those who may have done it too.
  14. You do know employee pricing on Windows 10 Pro is around $20-$25 right? I bought 5 copies of it when I went to the Microsoft Store at Microsoft last year. It's very possible some are legal and are reselling them that way too.
