  1. I paid 150€ for my Freesync 75hz monitor, which was quite cheap. If the freesync feature was "extra", I'd say it's no more than 20€, for mine in particular.
  2. Hey there. A few months ago I got a 1080p monitor with freesync. I want to get an AMD card that'll let me play anything on 1080p, preferably on 60fps+. It must be an AMD, because, yknow, freesync. I wanted to get a RX 480/580, because I read they were great for 1080p and the price was nice, but a few weeks after looking for them this whole mining frenzy started, so as you may know, it's almost impossible to get one. The ones that seem to be available are RX550/560, which based on benchmarks, might not be enough. I know Vega just released, but I don't think it's worth it for 1080p... So, my question is, are those RX550/560 good for 1080p. They are indeed very cheap, and they're available. Should I get a secondhand RX580? It's the one I wanted from the beginning, but it's almost impossible to get one. Should I say "screw freesync" and get a GTX 1060? Thanks a lot!
  3. True. I'm getting a freesync then. The problem is, I cannot find many of them in spanish stores. I found this one, which is really good for the price. 1ms and has freesync. Only con is it's not 144Hz but 75Hz. It has very positive reviews, and again, it's very very cheap in comparison. (The link is for the UK Amazon, but it's also available in Spain). What do you think? Almost the same version but with 144Hz is 120€ more expensive...
  4. Thanks a lot! My friend and i have been talking about GPUs recently. I was going to get a 1060, but we considered the rx 480 was also a pretty solid choice, considering they're almost on the same price range. My friend got the rx 480. I'll see how it performs, and if i'm satisfied with it (which i will) i'll seriously consider a freesync monitor plus the amd card. Although I don't really like the fact that I have to stick to AMD as long as I want to take full advantage of the monitor. We still don't know how the future gpus will be, and if I get a Nvidia card in the future, my freesync monitor would be "useless". Not really useless, but you get the point. Also, would a PS4 be okay on that freesync monitor?
  5. Thanks guys! You really are helping me make my decision. I'm afraid a monitor with G-Sync is a bit out of my league. I've been playing on consoles my whole life, so anything 1080p 60fps will do it for me. I've been taking a look at other threads, and many people recommend getting a 1080p 144Hz monitor over a 1440p one. I've also searched for some more monitors on the same price range, and came across a couple more: BenQ BL2420PT, which is 1440p and almost the same price as the Dell, and Acer Predator GN246HL, which is 1080p 144Hz. Are these ones okay? Both are 250€, and it's what I plan to spend tops. Little question. Wouldn't 60 fps videos/games look bad on a 144Hz monitor? Thanks!
  6. Thanks for your fast replies guys! I've been taking a look at the store I usually buy stuff from and I found a couple 1080p monitors that look really good and are not expensive. These are: Asus VX279H. This one is 27", up to 75Hz, LED IPS and has a couple HDMI and one VGA ports. It's 215€ Dell UltraSharp U2414H. This one is smaller (24"), 60Hz, has way more ports (including USB ports and DisplayPort) and has thinner bezel, which looks more elegant. This one is 245€. I went to a LAN party some days ago and some guy had 2 Asus VX279H which looked great put together. I'll keep looking at some more 1440p monitors. Which one of the 1080p I listed above is better in your opinion? The Dell looks better, but it's smaller and a bit more expensive.
  7. Wow, you were faster than me
  8. Here you go: Intel i5 6600K MSI Krait Gaming z170 Corsair 16GB RAM Seasonic S12II 650W 120GB SSD + 2TB HDD I don't have a graphics card yet, mainly because I won't play much in the following months, but I'll probably get a 1060 soon. Anyway, I'd like to have the monitor first, so I can do generic stuff more comfortably until I get the graphics card. Thanks!.
  9. Hey there! I recently got a new computer, but I didn't get a screen because I have a 19" TV, but it's native resolution is 1366x768. I work as a programmer, and I use a 1440p 27" iMac at work, which is really good, so I'd like something similar for my PC. On the other hand, my friend recently got a not-so-expensive 1080p ASUS monitor which looks incredible, and even more compared to my TV. I like both 1080p and 1440p resolutions, but 1440p monitors are WAY more expensive than 1080p ones. So, my question is: Should I get a nice 1080p monitor and stick with that until I "really" need a 1440p one? If I do this, I'd go dual monitor, even though they are different resolutions. Or should I save up and get a 1440p right away? I'd use the screen for gaming, coding and general internet browsing, as well as some audio stuff. P.D: I've seen some 4K monitors that are on the same price range as 1440p ones. Is it worth it? Wouldn't upscaled content look blurry on it? Sorry if I haven't explained myself correctly. Thanks!
  10. Well, I actually built my computer a week ago. It works like a charm, compared to my 2012 laptop that I was using. I ended up getting a 2TB HDD and the Seasonic PSU. As soon as I took it out of the box, I knew my money was very well invested. This is one great quality PSU. I actually didn't get the Graphics card, since I won't play much in the following months. I'll get one in 1 or 2 months, probably. Until then, I'm fine with the integrated graphics. Now I need a nice screen, since the one i use now (which is actually a TV), is not 1080p, and I want a 1080p or 1440p one, but I'll make another thread for that. Thanks a lot gor your help guys!
  11. Turns out that 520W PSU is no longer available But there's a 620W version, so I might as well get that. And it has nothing but positive reviews. Everyone says Seasonic is a great brand, so it must be true. Actually, I don't plan on getting the card yet. I won't play much the first month or so, so I'll probably get the card a bit later. And I don't really need a 3TB hdd, but I usually go to LAN Parties, so my storage gets maxed out quite easily. I thought about getting a 2TB HDD instead and invest the difference on a Samsung SSD, which have very positive reviews. I'm from Spain actually, and the s340 Elite version is 30€ more expensive than the regular version, and I don't think tempered glass is worth 30€ (Considering the regular case itself is around 70€).
  12. Well, there's a Seasonic S12II 520W on the store I'm getting it from, and it's quite cheap. But is 520 enough? Would it allow upgrading on some parts?
  13. Hello there. First time here. I'm thinking about building my very first gaming PC. I already own a laptop and a PS4, but I think I want to experience the true advantages of a desktop pc. I'd basically use it for gaming, audio editing, programming, maybe run some VM and browsing the internets. So, the build would go like this: CPU: Intel i5-6600K 3.5Ghz MOBO: MSI Z170A Krait Gaming 3X RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 PC-24000 16GB 2x8GB CL15 GPU: Asus Dual GTX 1060 OC 6GB GDDR5 SSD: Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB HDD: Toshiba DT01ACA300 3TB SATA3 64MB Cooler: Nox Hummer H-212 CPU Cooler PSU: Silverstone Strider ST70F-PB 700W 80 Plus Bronze Modular Case: NZXT S340 USB 3.0 White I also picked some of those components because of the color. I think a black/white build would look sick (I still don't know if I'll get the case white or black). So what do you think? Is it a nice build to start and keep it for a few years before upgrading it? Thanks!
