  1. ASUS TUF Gaming X570-PLUS Ryzen 7 3700X 1080 Ti 32GB G.Skill TridentZ 3000Mhz CL15 (4x8) I'll try uninstalling KB5003637, cheers!
  2. any method of opening task manager will fix the issue in the first place, so i cant access that information
  3. Alright, I've got myself a new SSD a few months ago, a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB to be precise and installed Windows 10 on it. The installation went flawlessly and I set all my stuff up again, which took quite a while since I use my PC for all sorts of things. A few weeks ago my Windows started taking quite long to load my profile and once I get in, explorer.exe is frozen. No icons in my taskbar and I can't interact with anything. I usually fix it by spam clicking the taskbar, and after about 5 seconds everything will be reloaded and working fine. Now this isn't much of an issue, but I would still like to get rid of it. This also occurs in safe mode, there's no difference. I've ran the following commands with no avail: chkdsk /f /r sfc /scannow DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth Here's the report from Event Viewer: Log Name: Application Source: Application Hang Date: 15/06/2021 17:17:34 Event ID: 1002 Task Category: (101) Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: DESKTOP-EEBHG2T Description: The program explorer.exe version 10.0.19041.1023 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. Cheers!
  4. Dude, thanks for all the instant replies. I really appreciate it! The cheapest one I could find so far is this one. As far as I'm concerned, it should work too - I would appreciate one last confirmation though!
  5. Alright, thanks for all the help so far! Sorry for bothering you again... but I found this controller which seems quite convenient, softwarewise. Also, going through the spec sheet I couldn't spot any compatibility issues. It's powered by SATA, connects to the board via USB2.0 and connects the RGB cables through an adapter straight to the hub, and also comes with male2male adapters. Seems perfect, or am I missing something?
  6. Thanks! Problem with this one is, that it's a female connector, which is also what I'm left with on my fans end. Would that work with a little 4-pin male to male adapter?
  7. Thanks for pointing out! I'm still lost with all the options, but I'm pretty sure a cheap controller should work, since that isnt any Corsair exclusive connector.
  8. Alright, looks like an option that would work, since I do have a free USB 2.0 header aswell as a free SATA connector. However, the software to control the lights seems a bit advanced, and this build is for a 11 year old. And I also think it could be a bit cheaper, as I don't need so many headers. However, thanks for the suggestion!
  9. Hey there, I'm currently working on a Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-DELTA RGB Case, which comes with 3 RGB LED fans. They connect to the board via 3-pin fan connectors, which is fine, but the lights connect via standard onboard RGB header. All of them are connected to a single RGB 4-pin plug via included Y-cable. The problem here is, the board I am working with has no RGB header. Now my question is, how am I going to get those to work? Since it's a simple RGB connector meant to be plugged into the boards RGB header, wouldn't any cheap RGB controller work? Here's what's available in my area. It would be nice to either be able control it with a remote (which doesn't have to be connected via a cable, if possible) or via software, since I do have a free internal USB 2.0 header. I hope you guys can guide me a bit and help me find a product which isn't overly expensive, maybe even from my provided list. Cheers! :)
  10. I didnt get any help here, but i fixed it What basically happened: for some reason my mobo thinks the i7 7700k's default voltage is 1.170V, which isnt enough. I've set it to 1.240V and everthings fine

It took me forever to figure out what the issue was, and after deleting my whole system drive aswell as removing my last thermal paste to check pins i came to the conclusion that my pc would start if i increased the core voltage. Does my PC run with default bios settings? Meaning: default ram speeds, default clock speeds, default core voltage. NO. It doesnt. But when i increased the core voltage by a tiny bit, it suddenly fixed everything. I am now running at default clock speed, with a slightly higher vcore offset (1.190V) and XMP on my RAM without any problems. My questions is: Should i RMA my cpu, or is it okay to live with the fact that it needs a bit more juice than it should? Before the first crash i was running at 4,5GHz by the way, though a preset in my bios, which was working fine for 2 weeks. I can't decide if this issue i had is a reason to RMA my cpu. Unfortunately I need my pc constantly and dont have any replacement parts nearby Happy about any suggestions, thanks!
