Linus + James play some backward compatible games on the Xbox One X and the Series X to see how the new console makes the games look better, run smoother, and load faster. Plus the new Quick Resume feature which is surprisingly cool!
  4. Soundbars have pretty much replaced the ol' "home theater in a box" solution, but in my experience don't offer a high fidelity sonic experience...until now? The Sonos Arc is the first soundbar that I've been impressed enough with to actually install in my living rooom. Now, should I get the subwoofer?
  5. Glad you like this one more. We'd love to get the quantitative tests like those other channels and have started looking around for the necessary equipment.
  6. Buy 240Hz monitors on Amazon (PAID LINK): https://geni.us/BGYuD You thought 240Hz gaming monitors were fast? Meet the ASUS PG259QN, a 360HZ IPS gaming monitor with G-SYNC and HDR10. But is it a meaningful upgrade to the PG258Q…or a worthy opponent of the Samsung Odyssey G7?

    So, @James, you want a southpaw75? Lol

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  8. So we're on the same page, cool Can you help me understand maybe why you think it didn't come across that way to you?
  9. I have an OLED TV in my living room. I am well aware of how the different transmissive/emmissive/reflective display technologies work; I know what FALD is trying to do, it just isn't very good at it yet. Even high-end displays with the most local dimming zones still have halos around the cursor and poor viewing angles. The quality of the experience definitely depends on the content but ya, generally speaking I think FALD is an in-between technology that will die once as OLEDs become more mainstream (like Samsung's upcoming models), microLED comes to market, or dual-membrane LCDs (like those from HiSense) become more popular.
  10. Buy LG 27GN950 on Amazon (PAID LINK): https://geni.us/yUUgBq The LG 27GN950 is a gaming monitor that has it all: 4K, 144Hz, DisplayHDR 600, adaptive sync, and of course, RGB. But is it a better buy than the 240Hz Samsung Odyssey G7? Depends…

And it’s GSYNC compatible! It’s everything…but can the VA panel keep up without smearing the blacks??

Buy Playstation stuff: On Amazon (PAID LINK): https://geni.us/fAcMLB On Newegg (PAID LINK): https://geni.us/rloH0 Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney recently stated that the upcoming Playstation 5 would feature a storage architecture "far ahead of anything you can buy on anything on PC for any amount of money right now". Linus initially attacked Sweeney's statement, citing existing SSDs with faster read/write speeds. In this video, Linus explains how he misunderstood Sweeney's statement, apologizes for spreading misinformation, and discusses some of the cool tech that makes the PS5 truly exciting for gamers of all stripes.
  18. tbh all of that was just to make the video interesting to watch instead of Linus' head reading an essay lol
