  1. Yikes, did not know that. That's why I bought a modular PSU lmao so I didnt have to re-run cables. So when I get my new GPU how do I know my existing cablemod PCI cables work with the new PSU (different topic I know)
  2. Old PSU was a Corsair CX650, which is semi modular, the new one is full. I reused the power cable for the SSD, and I used the old cable for the old hard drive, but I have only used the included SATA power cable for this new, also not working, one.
  3. That was my first thought as well, but the old hard drive worked just fine in the same config, only change was the PSU and now everythings gone to shit lmao
  4. No, the SSDs arent showing up when the hard drive is plugged in, but when I take the hard drive back out, they pop right back up. But I will do a CMOS reset if I have to.
  5. Its an EVGA 850W. All the SATAs are in fine, because they were working with the SSDs just a minute ago. I know I didn't have any malware or anything of the sort, this seems to be a hardware issue.
  6. Would this work now if the drive is "dead" or would it still be worth a shot outside of the case? I also have my sisters computer I could try the disk on if I need to.
  7. So I recently got a new PSU for my computer in preparation for a 3080, and when I booted it up for the first time I found that my hard drive (just for old backup of files, 4TB WD Blue) was "dead", not showing up, not spinning, nothing. This had happened to my other of the pair of WD Blues about a year ago. Thinking it was dead, I ordered a new Seagate, which arrived today. Plugged it in, power, SATA, blah blah I've done this plenty of times before, easy , right? So I go to boot it up, the computer clicks when I hit the button, fans get a little torque, and it doesn't boot, all in about 1/8 of a second. So I try again, this time it boots fine, I get into windows to see that my SSD (not boot drive) is gone, along with not seeing the new drive. Same story in the BIOS as well, nothing. Now if I pull the power to new hard drive, the SSDs come back, so they're fine, and out of the system for now to keep them safe from whatever seems to be killing hard drives or what it could be. Hard drive is not spinning (not getting power?), tried different WORKING SATA cables, power cables, nothing. What gives? Let me know if more information can be given, thanks in advance!
  8. I don't have optical or a way of converting USB on my PC. But it may help to know that taking that cable directly out of the PC that makes the buzzing and putting it into the same green line out on another doesn't make the sound. This makes me think that it has something to do with the sound card or the port, although I was able to use the port with headphones with no problem. Thanks for the extended help!
  9. I have tried a different cable. Same setup works on another PC, but not the one I'm using. My current theory (see what I did there) is that the line out is also doing some sort of voltage to drive headphones or something, but I don't know how to turn it off. This is because it was able to drive my big headphones without and AMP, and also no buzzing sound.
  10. Thanks for the reply! Is there anything that I could do to try and fix it without a discrete sound card?
  11. Hi LTT Forums. I've got a most likely simple question I think you all could help me with. So, the other day I got a new mixer and MIC for my streaming setup, but when I went to put them together there was a fairly loud buzzing sound coming from my stream. By swapping cables and inputs on the mixer, I have determined that it has something to do with my gaming PC, coming from the (Green) line out port. Im wondering if this is due to the on-board sound card or something to do with voltage that I don't know about. The audio from the gaming PC still works, just with the buzzing coming over it. I have an ASUS Z170M-Plus with no sound card. Thanks in advance!
  12. So i recently upgraded my CPU, mother board and ram. I installed it all and I don't get a post code with ram installed, and a few beeps without it. It wont post at all with the ram installed. I have a 7700k, a z170m plus and 2 dimms of 8GB GSkill Ripjaws V ram. PLZ HELP!
