  1. Thanks for your help, I'm going to try the Noctua 7mm offset bracket with Thermal grizzly thermal paste before I buy a new cooler, I also managed a stable -30 PBO and got about +150MHz with the same temps.
  2. Couldn't see if the review is going off the package temp or the CCD temp, if it's CCD then my CPU appears to be inline with the review but if it's package then mine is running way too hot.
  3. Recently I purchased a Ryzen 7 7800X3D to replace my 5600, paired with my old Noctua NH-15. When I was doing a stress test yesterday on Cinebench R23 I noticed my CPU package temp was hitting the 89c temp limit and also saw somewhat high idle temps. I re-pasted my CPU today with arctic silver 5 and saw a fall in idle temps, but under load the CPU package still appears to be hitting the 89c temp limit, however, it appears the actual CPU cores are not at 89c . I've attached some screenshots. It's worth noting I have my CPU and case fans on a somewhat aggressive fan curve, and I'm using the Fractal Design Pop Silent case. I've also applied a -10 PBO power profile with a +200MHz boost, but the cpu appears hard stuck at around 4.8GHz. Just wondering if anyone who has a 7800X3D can confirm if these are normal temps. Thanks, Tom!
  4. Thanks man, I was quite suprised to see how competitive the M1 chip has made the macs
  5. Hi Everyone! I’m starting University next year and I’m looking at getting a good laptop. I currently have a 128GB surface pro 6, however I find the limited storage a bit of problem and the detachable keyboard a major hindrance, especially with how flexible and un-sturdy it feels when typing. The course I’m doing will likely only require word processing and light graphing and light data processing, so I probably don’t need any thing other then integrated graphics. I’m looking at spending around $1300 ±$200 AUD, having 256gb - 500gb worth of storage, a good keyboard, and good battery. The current laptops I have in mind are the… 256gb 8gb M1 MacBook Air Inspiron 14 https://deals.dell.com/en-au/productdetail/bakw Inspiron 15 https://deals.dell.com/en-au/productdetail/bajq Inspiron 14 7000 https://deals.dell.com/en-au/productdetail/bajs Any help with what I’ve currently suggested or other suggestions would be appreciated Thanks
  6. Hi guys, I'm looking at purchasing a new monitor I've tossed it up between an Acer KG271A and an AOC 27G2, their both around the same price in Australia where I live but I can get the acer one about $30 cheaper if any of you have a suggestion on what for me to get or any other gaming monitors around $330 AUD that would be appreciated. Thanks, ~Tom

  8. Hi Guys, I currently run a i5 6600, 8gb ddr4 2133 & GTX 1060 3GB, I was wondering if I should upgrade my gpu to a RTX 580 8GB, or if I should just add another stick of ram to my build, I mainly play R6, For honour, however I'm wanting to buy black ops 4 and I want to get some decent FPS from it, so I don't know if I should add another stick or a new graphics or both! Thanks ~Tom
  9. If I buy a 1070 would I need to buy a new psu??
  10. Yeah I live in Australia and the cheapest 1070 I can get no the ti version is about $420 - $500 used while I can get the RX 580 for about $300 all thought the 1070 does seem to have a bit more horse power
  11. I only got 1 8GB stick of ram and would I get better performance with an rx 580?
  12. Do you think, Because I don't know if it's my cpu, gpu or ram affecting my performance
  13. Or do you reckon I should just upgrade my current rig?
  14. Thanks man but would I be able to do a decent OC the CPU? or is that only for X cpu's, sorry I;ve only only really used intel cpu so don't really know
