  1. I have a "be quiet!" 800 watt psu and have been using an 18AWG (rated for 60 degrees celsius) cable that plugs into the wall for the past few years. Is this cable too small to handle my psu?
  2. I want to get rid of all my splitters and have the most direct connection to my modem. I was going to use a coaxial double male ended coupler. Am I legally allowed to access my cable box to do this? I live in a house where a line comes in from the street via a large orange cable and my box is held closed by a twisty plastic thing that I can easily undo. I have Mediacom cable internet.
  3. Mediacom put down a new "drop" that looks like a big orange cable. They did this because my connection has been bad. They are saying that because my connection is still bad it must be the wiring in my house. I'm skeptical of this so I want to eliminate all outside factors and bypass the wiring to my house and plug my modem directly into the orange line coming from the street. Is this okay/dangerous?
  4. I have been having an issue for the past 24 hours with the permissions on my C (Boot) drive in Windows 10 Home. I found myself saving almost everything to my 2 TB extra hard drive and decided I wanted to save my Curse Client directly in the c drive without a folder, just the files. When I tried to save without a folder in my c drive, a popup appeared informing me that I didn’t have the correct privelage to save there. I thought this was weird so I clicked start and sure enough I was still an administrator! I initially thought this was an issue on Curse's end so I decided to test my theory by attempting to save a regular dot txt file to my boot drive. This worked but only if I saved it to a folder on the drive, I couldn't just save the file directly to the c drive without a folder which I COULD do on my 2 tb hard drive. I didn’t really know what to do and attempted to change ownership of the c drive through properties>advanced>change(Right beside “owner”) and then I saw that the owner was “trustedinstaller” I seeked to change this through adding my name and it worked! However, when I tried to apply the change to all folders and subfolders, I got hundreds of messages that I had to click through such as “values could not be enumerated in bla bla bla file”, “you don’t have the privelages for bla bla bla”, “ you cant change this becauase an instance of bla bla bla is already running”. I made sure everything in task manager was off and ultimately decided to reboot on a clean install of windows from my thumb drive. I did reboot and deleted and reformated my SSD boot drive. Upon entering windows I thought my problem was solved. To test if it worked, I opened a notepad file and typed some gibberish then tried to save as to my c drive without creating a file. This, did not work and gave me the same message about “you don’t have the privelages to save here”. I gave up for the night and upon waking up this morning, I wanted to see if I could do something before going to class so I turned on the computer only to find that I can't click the start button or search at all! After clicking them, nothing happens. I really don’t know what to do but I do have another SSD availible that I can try if the drive is the problem. Please give me some suggestions!
  5. What different steps should I take as opposed to the video's in your opinion?
  6. I can't tell if you are messing with me. So if I go over my pc will brick itself?
  7. I'm really not sure what you mean fails though. I don't know what constitutes failing. Do you mean if the PC shuts off or starts smoking or just a little alert on the screen that says "failed"? sorry I am a noob
  8. what stress test would you recommend and how would I know if it "worked" or not?
  9. so what did you mean when you said "if it works" if it does't.. what does that imply happened
  10. I'm really not sure what information you guys need to give me accurate advice on overclocking my CPU but here are my specs. i7 7700k cpu EVGA GTX 1080 Superclocked ROG Maximus IX Hero Motherboard Corsair H80 AIO liquid cooler (cooler from my old build back in 2012) Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz Corsair Carbide Series 200R Compact ATX Case EVGA Supernova G1 650W 120-G1-0650-XR Fully Modular Power Supply I took a screenshot of my CPU Temperatures (using Real Temp) while idle and a screenshot after approximately 20 minutes of playing Overwatch on epic settings. When playing Minecraft it says that my speed is 4.20 GHz in the f3 specs. Idle: https://gyazo.com/f225b0bdde81e1d40257cd82378097b3 20 Minutes of Gaming: https://gyazo.com/238d04e064435c874003db7d62750cc4 For actual overclocking I just want to get the most performance that I can out of my CPU while also being safe. I'm not really sure who to consult so I made an account and I'm asking you guys for your advice! I typically play a lot of games on my pc. Mostly Battlefield 1 and Overwatch right now.
