  1. Hello all. Dear Linus team, My question is relative to ASUS zenpad tablets and their android system ( and by extention all products ).Today, i have TWO zenpad tablets:- More than one year ago, i bought a (model designed in september 2016) Z500M witch came with Android 6 and later, was updated to Android 7 and Android 8. Witch is rare enought to be pinpoint.- A week ago, after stupidly breaking my z500m screen, i bought a fev 2018 Z301MF, witch is ship with Android 7. After an officiel question about Android 8 update to ASUS ( Service No=E1807017067 ), it seem no update plan are made for this Z301MF.I can't understand why such a brand new hardware is not coming with the latest, most secure, most advance Android system. I can't understand why this Z301MF was build with knowned hardware who are not supported by Andoid 8.Is this stupidity, is this laziness, or is this disrespect for customers ?? - Stupidity: lack of intelligence during hardware pick-up process ? Also called furniture politic !- Laziness: lack of willingness to provide high end hardware ? The older the better ?- Disrespect: with all those news about security holes in hardware/software, distributing an old andoid system is a non-sense on a marketing side? Who the Fxxxx cares, after all you are just a customer.Last week, Google Makes it Mandatory for OEMs to Roll Out Android Security Updates Regularly. So i would ask what about making Mandatory for OEMs to roll out the latest Android version with brand new hardware ??After buying the brand new Z301MF, i just feel like having bought the latest microsoft surface with a windows 3.11 on it.I would like to have some kind of insite explanation for this software politic ?!!!!!! And i think this would be some kind of high value video from your team.Thanks.
  2. just did one here : First, what is the type of raid you want to create ? - no raid, software raid, PCI controlor for harware raid .... This will drive you r options for the hardware. If, like me, you choose a raid6 config ( 32TO ), you will need a minimum of 6 HDD for the array. You can ether run the OS from another disk, or from a e-sata device, or from an usb3.0 stick/hdd/ssd. You will need a minimum of 6 sata ports on your motherboard. Second, what OS do you want to run ? - A windows based system, or a Linux, or a freenas/openmediavault/rockstor system ??? This will drive your options for the CPU. I choose to run Debian, on a AMD A8-6500 CPU, with 8 GO ram. This is almost to much power ! Third, scapability and durability of your system. - Easy hot plug maintenance, or shutdown maintenance. My Icy dock fatcage support hot-swap HDD exchange. Also, it help to cool the HDD Fourth: usage. - Is it a simple NAS sitting box on a local network or is it a real internet appliance. Do you plan to have other services running on it. FTP/Webdav/LDAP/ or multimedia station + fileserver +printserver .... This is also to be consider when choosing the OS. Backup: a NAS is not a backup system. - fire, flooding, electrical problem will definitely kill and destroy your NAS, and all your data will be lost. You will definitly need to backup your data. My choose is: First level storage for my data are my laptops, smartphones and tablets ... Seconde level, is my NAS as a cloud ( https acces, synch apps ). Store locally in my home, behind a FTTH 1GO synchone line. Third and final level. A online backup, every weeks, to Backblaze backup ( Unlimited files. Unlimited file size. Unlimited speed. )
  3. still waiting for my HDD delivery to finish my system... Used 5 old 1TO HDD from various brand to create a Raid6 arry
  4. Finaly make it. Nextcloud serveur based on Debian 9.3, Nextcloud 13 Old case + Icy Dock FatCage MB153SP-B ( 2 )based A8-6500 8GO , 32Go SSD + 8*6TO HDD 4.9.0-5-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.65-3+deb9u2 (2018-01-04) Raid6 build with MDAMD + LVM / apache 2.4.29 / lets-encrypt CA / php 7.0.27 / 10.1.26-MariaDB / mysqlnd 5.0.12/ phpadmin 4.6.6deb4 / Redis server v=3.2.6 / HTTP2 / Fail2Ban + abuseIPBD
  5. Back from holidays... Latest, final and stable OC at 4945.3 MHz https://valid.x86.fr/l54q4b
  6. Fix... RMA done. Took the same PSU cause I like Corsair... Last pic build and aftermath.....
  7. He called me a liars by saying I am a dangerous user, without asking any info on the debug process or whatsoever. He could be god himself I do not appreciate this, so screw him. Uf he apologized I will... By the way, here's the RMA invoice from my reseler... If he really want to follow up, I did kept all the PN/LoT numbers
  8. By the way, you both should put a stinkomen as your profile, morons.
  9. Went out to my reseller this morning . Was able to reproduce the leak. And to use a multimeter to measure it. 12 volts at 55 Amps. Witch show a real default on the main rail. And concerning all your explanation and calling me a dangerous user, screw you. I am a certified electric tech. I build my house myself and a I am fucking pretty sure my outlet are connected to the yellow/green ground line. Further more, you were not in front of the PSU. You did not receive the electric shock. I did. My son did. So easy to point fingers to other. When I wrote dangerous PSU, I am talking about this particular unit. Not the whole series. My reseller used a black box UT120c to measure the shirt to ground. 120 homs and 12v/55 @mps. He shot a video for the RMA ... Just email him for a copy... The new reimplacemznt RM1000x is just fine. ( Tested in the shop, of course.)
  10. your're right... They called it silent running... Anyway, tomorrow I am driving by my reseller to RMA this dangerous PSU
  11. I have ground. I think a screw has cut the fan line, because it is not turning.
  12. Yes, I can really feel it !!! And my son too. We were finishing to build the rig when I touched the case ... A jumpy situation !!!!
  13. In order to build my new rig, I bought a brand new Corsair RM1000x ... Unfortunately, she's leaking electricity to the case... Never experienced such thing... The PSU plugged and standing on a wood table is a real danger... Unfortunately, don't have a multi-meter for measurement in order to take a picture, but believe me, it is quite a shocker ... RMA and exchange tomorow
  14. Tested the PSU on a wooden table, still having troubles ... Definitely the weirdest thing I experience with PSU
  15. I am having some troubles with my new PSU... She is leaking electricity. With only the power cord in and nothing else plug, I am taking quiet some shocks ... RMA tomorrow !!!
  16. Cable management finish, new PSU installed
  17. So far, haven't t test doing OC with lowering CPU voltage. My latest delivery arrived, cable management finish. Will have a look on it after the holidays...
  18. Stable so far. i have a NZXT Kraken x62 for cooling ... i set up the pump to full throttle. On the radiator, the 2 ML140 Pro magnetic levitation fan from Corsair are set on PWM
  19. here is my best OC so far https://valid.x86.fr/msnpeb 4941.79 stable. My choice was to go a little less
  20. Yes , just change the title, and tried to be more explicit... Cable management asap, Amazone (france) lost my PSU. Should wait until Tuesday 8/8/17. The glass side panel will be mounted when all is finish ...
