  1. Hi all, I know this will be kind of a niche topic here... I'm buying the Surface Laptop 2 in Black, shortly: I heard, however that it scratches and shows fingerprints quite easily. For that reason I wanted to get a skin to cover most of the device (top, bottom, sides, track pad, logo[?]). I know others can be quite creative when it comes to this, so any suggestions on nice skin combos that will match with the black colour scheme while giving it some flair? Here are some websites for reference: - https://dbrand.com/shop/microsoft-surface-laptop-skins - https://www.xtremeskins.co.uk/products/microsoft-surface-laptop-skins - https://www.decalgirl.com/skins/microsoft-surface-laptop-skins Any custom / local skin makers (ship to Germany) would also be welcome! Thanks in advance!
  2. Thanks for the advice, I will look into a web GUI if I can find it, but a tech from the ISP is coming over soon so will leave using my own router as a last resort. Have a good day
  3. Dear Wise Men and Women of this forum, I come to seek your advice regarding how to fix my wifi router. It works fine some of the time, but every couple hours it will stutter occasionally before fully turning off. We then wait ~ 5 minutes and the internet resumes on its own. This is the modem when it crashes (FRONT / BACK) NOTE : The "DLS" light flashes at this stage Front LED array: Power | DSL | Internet | LAN 4-->1 | WLAN | WPS | FXS1 | FXS2 | USB Bold = LED on / flashing BACK Port array: DLS | FXS1 | FXS2 | LAN 1-->4 | Reset | USB | Power Bold = port being used Important notes: - This is our second router after previous one encountered same problems - Restarting / removing power / not doing anything and waiting = same result, internet comes back on after ~ 5 minutes , only for problem to persist later - Location : Central Europe Can anyone offer a solution to this problem, or an insight as to what might be going wrong? Thanks in advance, Jacob
  4. Have been playing mostly CS:GO and PUBG for a long time now, and recently bought an Acer GN246HL 144hz monitor. While the smoothness is a big difference, when opening a more detail - oriented game like PUBG the color difference was a bad surprise; - Colors look darker / shadier (upping brightness barely changes anything, like shining a bright light on the monitor itself!) - Everything is less sharp / blurrier, details harder to make out. - Generally a much greater disparity between colours in this monitor and colours in high quality PUBG youtube videos, for example, and also worse than my old 60hz TN cheap monitor! Have experimented with: - Nvidia lightboost (creates strobing effect to remove motion blur) / made colors look even worse - Messing with color settings both in monitor buttons and Nvidia control panel / some improvement but still unsatisfactory - Downloading color calibration profiles / see above Unless someone can suggest a fix / improvement to this problem, and I will be researching, I think I will refund it and buy another one with better colors. Can anyone suggest a 144hz TN (others too expensive) 1ms response time monitor with good or even reasonably good color accuracy, as this is questionable at best and ugly and eye-fatigue-inducing at worst. Thanks in advance, Jacob
  5. Dear wise men (and women) of the LTT Forums, I have a problem. About a week ago, I downloaded TunnelBear as I wanted to watch a TV show online only available in another country. Upon entering, I realized it did not contain the country available that I was looking for. Nevertheless, I tried from another nearby country in TunnelBear, which also didn't work. I deleted the program from the desktop, and permanently deleted it from the recycle bin (but not the installer from Chrome!). Since then, about once every 2 days what I now assume was TunnelBear has been disconnecting me from my home internet access (Message: "Network | No internet") [Using Win10], and even though others could use the network fine, the only solution for me was to go into the TunnelBear installer and turn it on and off again to reset me to my current location, Austria. The same thing happened a few minutes ago, only this time I went into the installer and it only gave the crying bear image and "I thought we were friends", and the options to 'uninstall' or 'contact support' (which I cannot do without internet). So I pressed uninstall, wiped all traces of TunnelBear off my PC thinking it would reset the WiFi, but to no avail. This leads to the present, as my PC has no internet access and I am appealing to your knowledge on my laptop. How can I reset my PC to believe it is back in my current location? Any help and advice would be much appreciated, Jacob
  6. I also have a roccat Kone (XTD) and it feels big and a bit heavy as well as the fact that it has multiple different textured surfaces which gets uncomfortable for playing for longer periods of time with sweaty hands and the wear over time: As you can see the lighting areas are covered with clear plastic which is slippery whereas the rest is a bit smoother and less slippery but the contrast and ridges in between make it unsuitable for playing CS:GO for long periods of time (1.8k+ Hours).
  7. Hi all, Am searching for a good quality gaming mouse, to be used primarily for playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. This is an fps game that requires a lot of fast and accurate mouse movements including flicking and dragging consistently at a precise sensitivity. As such, am looking for a mouse to do this task as I have small-medium sized hands and most options seem to be tailored to medium-large hands, and / or are quite heavy with a lot of unnecessary switches and other features. Budget : ~ up to 80/90 EUR. //EDIT: Something lightweight & with a unibody design (not many different layers of e.g smooth plastic and rubbery plastic). Thanks in advance for all your suggestions, Jacob
  8. This list looks fabulous! - I see with the budget I will not be able to buy an RGB keyboard, but it has the switches I want so that's dandy for me, - Could you recommend a case with a side window? Could cost a bit more too if necessary, - I think I will go for the HyperX Cloud 2 instead, they are only a bit more expensive here and someone nearby has them so I can test them and know that they're great. Apart from that, thanks for your suggestion!
  9. With my budget: Keyboard: ~ 170 Monitor: ~ 220 GPU: ~ 250 SSD + HDD ~ 100 CPU Cooler: ~ 30 Mobo: ~ 100 PSU ~ 60 Case : ~ 70 Total : ~ 1000 I'm already pushing it even without a more expensive processor like you suggest. Can you suggest a good alternative build within (approximately) the suggested budget?
  10. Do you mean 'don't use bold' or I misunderstood, where was I using blue? I understand it will be more powerful but I am on a budget and this is a very good deal for a game that will comfortably run 144fps+ with this processor.
  11. 1. Budget & Location 900 EUR - Germany. Budget does not include processor - have a very good deal on an i5 6500 from a friend. 2. Aim System will be used mainly for playing CS:GO (does not need powerful graphics card) and occasionally other more demanding games, as well as usual office work. 3. Monitors Include 1* 1920x1080 144hz monitor please. 4. Peripherals Include: - Corsair K70 Lux RGB with Cherry MX Reds - Kingston HyperX Cloud II. 5. Why are you upgrading? Am currently playing on a not very powerful laptop which does not give sufficient frames to run CS:GO smoothly let alone other gaming titles. Thanks in advance for all your suggestions, Jacob
  12. Does the performance of a processor degrade after usage over a period of time? If so, to what extent and with what processors (if possible). Am thinking of getting a deal on a processor from a friend that he has been using for gaming for the last ~ 1 year and a half, and want to know if the performance will still be the same as when new. Thanks in advance, Jacob
  13. Thank you! The only thing I would change is if I can save even more money by the end of the summer I will get a nicer case. I love how Ryzen comes with a good enough looking and performing CPU cooler, and how you don't have to spend lots extra for a Z170 chipset to overclock intel CPUs!
  14. Why is that? It seems to be 144hz, which is what I want for high fps gameplay, and even though it has a TN panel I don't need good viewing angles or perfect color accuracy to play CS:GO
