  1. Thanks for the reply, I just looked on ebay and that x299 mobo I have seen the cheapest one on there going for around $600 and that is pre-owned. Maybe it is worthwhile to try and sell mine and try to pay for the upgrade? I am about to start a software engineering course in a few weeks so I am pretty strapped for cash. You think I'll have any luck selling it on there for around that price? I have thought of using Marketplace but I think the chance someone near me needing that board would be extremely low... Hell maybe I can even sell the 7700k too, any idea what a used one goes for?
  2. Hey guys I'm just running through my options here and would like some others input. My MSI Gaming M7 Z170 just died (not on its own, there was an accident where somebody crashed something into it and f**ked it up). I have a i7-7700k that I was using in that mobo but I also have a brand new, never used x299 MSI Gaming M7 ACK mobo that I've had for awhile never did anything with it. My question is should I: A - Get a new z170/z270 board B - Get a x299 compatible CPU and if so which CPU would you recommend? I've read they support the 10th gen CPU's? also just to add, I won't just be gaming but also do some graphic, coding, VM and server stuff as well. Thanks in advance if anyone has any input!
  3. This sounds ridiculous to me, EVERYONE uses Tempered Glass cases now. As long as the case has good airflow it doesn't matter if your side panel is a solid piece of glass or a solid piece of metal! The amount of heat held by either really shouldn't change your temps in a drastic way whatsoever. Air flow through the case is the culprit here , not the damn glass smh lol. It's just that the p400 front panel terribly restricts it i switched from a Phanteks Luxe case to the p400 and instantly seen a huge difference in temps. Also if I'm really taxing my GPU after awhile my fans will kick in at either 100% or close to it, but with the front panel off it doesn't get hot enough to do that. I'm going to either cut out a hole in the front for the two fans and put fan filters attached behind the panel with a grill on the front or i'm going to make a custom front panel out of acrylic.
  4. Can you believe this was just sitting in this dudes basement collecting dust and whatnot?! And then I get some of the drives up and there was stuff installed in August so they were in use 2 months ago?! I was wondering to myself how could they get so dusty and disgusting so quickly or he just didn't take care of his stuff at all lol, his Windows username was Big Daddy too lmao
  5. And here is the Hardware I got: PS: Before I cleaned them totally up!
  6. Dude just the AX1200i's alone is over $600 man, you wouldn't believe my face when I got the systems home and checked what was in them!! See I work at a computer repair shop and this computer is what I did for a guy and after he had paid he asked me"hey i have some other computer hardware im getting rid of just sitting in my basement wanna come to my house and pick it up?" and I of course said "HELL YEAH"
  7. YES! That's what i was really wondering, like the 690's are dual GPU's already and then in SLI its 4 GPU's so maybe thats my problem @HZapperz??
  8. Yeah I mean I had the 4930k system up and running yesterday with the 690's in and man it wouldn't run PUBG well at all, even at very low setting it would stutter, something has to be wrong here right?? I mean the 690's default setting it put on was High but totally unplayable at that, could the SLI actually be hindering it because the 690's are dual GPU's???
  9. Okay I got 2 GTX 690's and an original Titan 6Gb for free, which of these would be the better setup (I'm guessing the 690's but idk). I am going to be using it to build my girlfriend a pc that can run PUBG (she recently moved in, never had played on a pc before, now she's addicted to PUBG lmao). So do you guys think either of these GPU setups would run PUBG and current games? Thanks, Cheers! PS: The GPU's I got from two complete systems given to me for free, so on top of the GPU's I got a 4930k, a 3930k, 32Gb (8x4gb sticks) of Corsair Dom's, 32Gb (4x8gb sticks) of Corsair Vengeance, two AX1200i PSU's, a 1TB Samsung 840 Pro SSD, a 240Gb Corsair SSD, 2 2TB HDD's, a Corsair Case and a Lian Li case (both cases are in pretty crappy shape). But hell yeah i thought it was a great find for free!!!!
  10. Hey, I really appreciate your input for real! Now I know what I can expect. I had a feeling it was still very much a relevant CPU I just don't have any experience in them whatsoever you know.
  11. Also how does it handle games you through at it coupled with that 1070??
  12. Hey man! Thanks for the input for sure! I just ordered a new case for the 4930k! I'm excited to build it into a beast machine! I'm thinking I should play the powerball or mega millions now, I'm having a string of good luck, might as well try! hahaha
  13. Yeah I'm still happy with Intel, I can't wait to get my hands on the 7900x and the MSI Gaming M7 ACK Mobo!!! But sadly right now I just have the case and the PSU for that build lol. If you dont mind if i cleaned up one of these builds with a new case, got it looking really nice, what do you think II could get for it? Specs would be: i7-3930k 32gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3 @2666Mhz Corsair AIO Corsair 240GB SSD 1TB Western Digital Either the 2 690's in SLI or the Titan And a decent PSU (I have a few lying around, maybe an EVGA 1000w G3)
  14. Awesome man, I'm kinda jelly! I want to see one in action! Personally, I have a Thermaltake Tower 900 Snow Edition case waiting to be filled!!! I am going with the i9-7900x...whenever I can afford it lol!
  15. Hey thanks for the input man! Because my main rig is obviously a gaming rig but I really wanted a seperate system for workstation/editing and this seems perfect for the money (FREE) cant beat it hahaha, I see you have the 1950X man, how is it?!
