  1. The QVL is just what the vendor has validated to work with a particular piece of hardware, testing methodology can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and even between their different products so there is no real way to say how much stock should be put in these unless someone from a major manufacturer has inside info for us. if something on the QVL works for you go with it though, you have at least some guarantee that it will function properly.
  2. Just remember if you buy an aftermarket dock to pair it with an official nintendo power adapter (15USD Amazon) there have been field reports of some 3rd party ones ruining switches, people who use the official power supply have no issues with third party docks as far as I can tell.
  3. It would just be 6 hours of figuring out bios and driver errors, finding the right firmware for the MXM cards and hoping they are compatible with the MXM standard the machine has.
  4. Go to the sound enhancements settings in windows and set bass boost to something absurd. should seem very broken.
  5. Those look promising thanks for the reccomendation.
  6. Alright, so I'm currently rocking a dell latitude from 2009 with a 2.6ghz core2 duo, it's perfect for having my sheets up for DnD and just browsing the web for rules and info, however it can barely play 2d games at this point and i want to upgrade to something that can play older 3D games at low settings and modern 2D games at the native res of the screen. I haven't purchased a laptop or even really looked at them in over 8 years so I really need help here, at least getting pointed in the right direction. My requirements are: -Playback of 1080p/60 video -2D Gaming -3D Gaming of older titles, say, half life 2, Fallout3, indie games with low requirements. -HDMI or DP output, or a good way to do it with an adapter. -1440x900 screen or better -15 or 14inch screen -Built like a brick shithouse -good keyboard, preferably not chiclet style. Any kind of help finding such a computer would be much appreciated! I briefly considered an HP Precision laptop since their seem to be lots of those coming off of lease programs from businesses but im not sure about them. EDIT: also it doesn't need windows or a hard drive, i have hard drives and mainly use linux on my laptops.
  7. most monitors are only a few pounds so it should be fine, as long as the base doesn't cover the intake on the top too much. Doesn't seem to be flimsy enough to be an issue.
