Holy crap I've just been through MSI's website and it turns out i had to look at the specific fan model to find out the LED SW header runs to a fan controller! scrap that jazz, Am i right in thinking I can just straight up take the 3 ARGB fans and the included 3 - 1 cable adapter and run that to a JRAINBOW 3 pin header? or is that literally just for RGB and not fan contrrol?

I've looked in the manual... neither of them address the LED SW header or where to put it.... there also seems to be very little documentation online about it. Never really dealt with RGB before and fancied a stab at having a synced up lighting thing going on. didn't know it was gonna be this complicated...

Howdy folks, so I just got a nice case upgrade from my solid black fractal design r4 to an msi gungnir 110. This new case has come with an LED SW front panel header but I can't find anywhere as to where to plug it in on my mobo (MSI X570 A PRO) Any ideas??

Thank you, that's the info i was looking for. I may have more questions when I'm installing windows if you don't minbd helping? never had to mess around with MBR/GPT before and it's blowing my mind... my SSD is formatted inGPT and the windows usb stick I've created is also GPT. I went into my BIOS settings and changed the boot to UEFI and then everything crashed when trying to launch the windows installer.. I've had to plug my HDD back in and revert the boot order and reenable UEFI/Legacy just to get back up and running to troubleshoot It just occured to me I may need a BIOS update..... -

sounds like the safest option to me. might take me longer to declutter but if everything stays as it does now just with faster boot times then I should be okay. -
migrate windows from HDD to SSD help
InjuredSmurf replied to InjuredSmurf's topic in Storage Devices
@RageTester Yes i am planning on keeping the old HDD and preferably with all my games/movies/browser/documents etc on that drive. the C drive is already bigger than the SSD I'm looking to migrate to so that won't be an option. If I do a clean install will all my files and setting etc stay the same? @Cyberspirit Corsair doesn't seem to have any software to migrate that I can find @HairlessMonkeyBoy I'm installing macrium to try that now. EaseUS wouldn't do it -
Howdy good folks. I've recently gotten a Corsair mp510 240GB NVMe drive to move windows onto. the quesiton is, how do i go about doing this and keeping all my files? Can I: A) make a clean install of windows 10 on the SSD and then delete the windows boot partitions from the HDD B) use software to migrate the windows boot files only to the SSD? my HDD has used about 50% of it's 2TB capacity. Is this even possible without destroying my data?

The 20MB limit was screwing me up. I think the all in 1 box might be fried. Will rip it apart tomorrow to check the PCB. Bits I cut out of the video: Remote not controlling anything Led strip A only lighting up 2 spots LED strip B lights up fully but changes colour when I touch it (wierd) VID_20200127_004021.mp4

I bought a bunch of RGB fans and the RGB hub 2nd hand which although came with the remote for everything, it was shipped without the power connector. I can't find the cable online anywhere and the instruction booklet says it's molex but I've never seen molex that small... Links would be appreciated too! I have included a SATA cable for size reference.

Need help upgrading my PC on a budget
InjuredSmurf replied to InjuredSmurf's topic in New Builds and Planning
Thanks for the help guys, I feared I'd have to replace all core components but if that's the way it is then so be it. No entirely sure what rpm the ram is, it was cheap at purchase so I think maybe 3300?? I'm looking at going up in the world and getting a ddr4 motherboard and ram anyways but that was meant to be another 18 months or so down the line. What's the forecast on the nvidia 1000 series price drop? Say within the next 6ish months?
