ah i see now, well enjoy that soundcard and have fun with your monitor, but i was mostly speaking of the cabling INSIDE the rig but the cables outside areeee off
-
1. Why do you need a 3rd party Soundcard, integrated sound is really good these days, especially since you bought an X99 board 2. I would say 8 out of 10 because your cable management can be somewhat better and also cause you got a much better set up than me....lol

After installing new RAM my computer it sent into restart loop
Dang3r D3bbi3 replied to zmayer11's topic in Troubleshooting
Nah your PSU shouldnt be the issue, you dont need all 500 watts, however static can be an issue. I would personally try getting into the BIOS first and checking around to see if everything is detected and fine, but if that doesnt work then you might have to take out the BIOS battery and/or reset your BIOS. that COULD solve your issue, but no garuntees -
I mean how good is your cooling and ventelation? But a GTX 1080 at $550 is a STEAL RIGHT NOW! So yeah i would say that yes it is a good card, I assume your refering to the ASUS Strix edition which is also a good card but is most likely out of stock or overpriced AF right about now. No you should be good.

OK so my friend is building her PC for the 1st time and is almost done choosing parts. However, she is really confused about Intel vs AMD for cores. But also she wants to know what benefits hyper threading brings vs just having more cores in general.

Thanks

How do I disable Hot Swap?

Hey gang, I bought a 2TB HDD about 8 months ago and ever since I re-installed Windows 10 onto my SSD the 2TB Hard Drive has shown up in my Safely Remove hardware. I haven't ejected it for fear of corruption of data but I would like to know is there a way I can get it to NOT show up here as it is an INTERNAL HDD connected by SATA and not an EXTERNAL HDD.

Ok got it thx bro

Hey gang, i got a few questions here, first I am upgrading my GPU. I can go either way, get a 1070 for around $430-450 and a better monitor down the road (but i would have better future proofing), ORR get a RX 480 for $280 from a friend and a new Free-sync 144Hz monitor for $200. I would spend more money on the RX 480 and monitor but the 1070 is just the card and no monitor, plus the 480 and monitor are more of a long term investment sooo i would be kinda locked in.... Anyways, I would be playing PUBG (finally I can run it), Overwatch (once i get it), COD games, Civ 5, maybe Battlefield 1, GTA V (when i get it), and LOTS AND LOTS OF DESTINY 2!!! LMK what you think is the best option and try not to be too bias...thanks

The CPU tells the GPU or integrated GPU to make the pixels you see, the CPU tells the parts what to do, it controls everything
-
CPU: the brain of the computer, where is controlled from and what controls everything RAM: volatile storage that programs that your currently using are stored in GPU: the CPU for games essentially with built in RAM

I dont actually know, usually on the monitors selling pages they list Freesync range and 95Hz seems like it would be in that range. I dont think you could get 95Hz but I have heard of non-Freesync 75Hz monitors, so that might work.
-
Also after reading some more on the monitor, I found that it has Freesync and you have an Nvidia GPU but I mean that doesnt matter to everyone but i wanted to say if you spent this much time trying to find a good deal on a monitor that you want but is still a knock off brand then I suggest save your money and wait to get a higher end 3440x1440 144hz G-sync, if you want to go all out. However I am not saying you have to, I am just suggesting it as it is still up to you.

I'm gonna be the Debbie Downer here....;), and say at 3440x1440p I am unsure you 980 can run all those games at a decent frame rate and texture, BUT its up to you if those things are important. Moving on both 2560x1080 and 3440x1440 are niche resolutions but 3440x1440 is more popular i believe, If you say you can play all those games at good quality then yeah you should be good. Destiny 2 is like Fallout 4 and Skyrim with the open world type if you see what i am saying, It might take advantage of DX12 but it will probably be a DX11 game. However my biggest concern is when you move into higher res and bigger games, you need more VRAM and a faster GPU. If your looking for high FPS, good quality, and high res you might need a 1080/1080 Ti.
