  1. hey guys, I am an IT guy at a local restoration shop, we just had a network outage for 3 days during this past weekend, does anyone know of any software to constantly ping between my shop and my home and if either goes down the one still up will notify me of an outage
  2. Hi guys I have been asked by a friend of mine he is a dealer for a classic car parts company, he has his own website that he sells the products on I was wondering if it would be possible to have some sort of script, program, etc. to take the price from his wholesaler run it though a simple % program in order for him to make a profit, and he is wanting to check it daily if possible since his wholesaler does not inform him of their price changes decreasing his profit margin. any help would be greatly appreciated!
  3. Ok so I have a "brilliant" idea but I need some help. I have a 94 chevy truck nothing to fancy in it, it doesn't even have an obd2 port in it but I am wanting more information when I am driving here is the list of things I want to do engine temp sensor (my truck has a temp gauge for the engine but I want to know the exact temp and be able to record it for reference) Transmission temp sensor outdoor temp/humidity sensor in cab temp sensor voltage meter backup camera/dash cam gps tracking android auto (for GPS navigation and music control) and onboard engine diagnostics (similar to obd2 but has a different wiring scheme for troubleshooting problems of the engine, transmission, etc,) my initial idea was to use a raspberry pi because it already has a wide assortment of accessories but with everything I'm wanting to do, I do not know if the raspberry pi would have enough power. I would, of course, like to make it as cheap as possible but my max budget is $500 and I would like the computer to be as small as possible (maybe an intel nuc running Linux size or an Asus tinker board) It also has to stay as cool as possible because I live in Kansas so summers get hot af and winters can get cold af. this is going to be a summer project but I am getting started on researching this idea of mine now and just need some help and feedback. Thank You!!!
  4. yes I know about this video and so does Linus. Linus mentions this video in the video I put into my og post and it is possible on mac, not windows. what I'm getting at is that since the Corsair Voyager GTX is recognized as an internal drive will windows built in raid controller work with these flash drives??
  5. ok in this video Linus trying to put these flash drives in "sli" (raid) in windows but doesn't succeed and he has to go to mac. I had a eureka moment!! I own a Corsair Voyager gtx 128gb flash drive and I noticed that it shows up as an internal drive. could you get 2 or more of these and put it in a raid array like he was trying in this video? I only have 1, not 2 if I had 2 I would test it myself could somebody test it and get back to me??
  6. Thank you I didn't of that, I thought if one thing got updated they all got updated.
  7. I work for a university and they have Three zfs servers running the latest Oracle os and sharing there file systems via napp-it application. Me and a colleague have been trying to share volumes between all three for redundancy. we keep getting a weird error "Sorry, your zfs is too old for zrep to handle volume initialization Error: Please initialize volume target by hand, if you won't upgrade" after typing in the command "zrep -i z0pool/test-lun (IPADDRESS) zpool" I am leaving out the machines IP address for security purposes. But please if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this issue please let me know!
