  1. But he's not asking for a GPU. He's asking for motherboard, ram and CPU at a predefined budget.
  2. Cute prices. MSI Godlike is 780 euro Gigabyte Extreme is 915 euro Prices taken from danish webshop operating in Norway. Norwegian webshops are even more expensive.
  3. There are some concerns on Reddit about the chipset overheating on that board. Basically the fan intake is located so close to the upper PCI slot that the graphics card overheats the chipset. Made me a bit reluctant. The MSI X570 Gaming Pro Carbon Wifi is currently 18% off. Is that a good board? Will it allow the 3900X to boost to it's potential with PBO and whatnot?
  4. I am upgrading my rig, but currently stuck at picking motherboard and ram. Been looking at a few different options; Budget option: Asrock X570 Pro MSI X570 Gaming Edge Wifi Midrange: Asrock X570 Steel legend MSI X570 Gaming Pro Carbon Wifi Asus Prime X570-Pro Gigabyte X570 Pro Upper limit: Asrock X570 Taichi Gigabyte X570 Ultra I want a good, quality motherboard with: at least 2 m.2 pci gen 4 slots (preferably with heatsinks) wifi and bluetooth is preferred Sleek design. Going for a black/grey/white build. A good soundcard A good NIC without any issues Supports 4x8GB 3600mhz CL16 memory. Preferably dimms with RGB. RGB sync system which works I can't seem to decide which board to go for. The MSI Carbon board is kinda ugly and I've got bad experience with Gigabyte's software on my current Gigabyte B360 board. The Asrock X570 Taichi seem to fit most of the points, but the memory QVL was lackluster. Asus had a much better list but lacks wifi... I've been eying the G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3600MHz (F4-3600C16D-16GTZR) and those are on Asus QVL. Even tested with 4 dimms which aĺlows expansion. Any help is appreciated as I'm started to be blinded by specsheets ?
  5. G-sync only kicks in if the framerate is below your monitors refresh rate. It does nothing if the FPS is above your monitors refresh rate. If your framerate drops from 144 to 100, G-sync will change your monitors refresh rate to 100. If your framerate is 200, G-sync can't overclock your monitor to 200hz.
  6. I've borrowed a 120hz monitor. The upgrade wasn't very noticable at first.... but when going back to 60hz it became really laggy. In The Witcher 3, Geralt is smooth on both 60hz and 120hz... but the scenery is really stuttery on 60hz. Unable to notice any screen tearing on 120hz, but it's become more apparent on 60hz.... Guess I'm upgrading...
  7. Makes me wonder if it's really worth upgrading to a 144hz monitor. I don't play a whole lot of fast paced games and while I do play FPS I don't play competitively. With that said: my PC is able to run most games at ultra with 100+ FPS. A faster monitor would certainly benefit from the rest of the hardware. Specs: Ryzen 7 1700 16GB 3000mhz ram nVidia GTX 1070ti
  8. Hi there I'm looking at upgrading from my cheap 60hz TN panel to a 144hz VA panel, but would like some feedback. Keep in mind: I've been only been using 60hz panels and believed for a long time that 144hz was a gimmick. I've for the longest time believed that response time was a gimmick My current TN panel is 60hz, 5ms response time (Benq GL2450) Last year I used a 60hz IPS/PLS panel with 4ms GTG (Samsung 27SF350) The monitor I'm looking at is the MSI MAG24c. Should I be concerned with ghosting, smearing, input lag etc? Seeing as I've never had 144hz or a 1ms panel, I can't see how it would be any "worse" than the monitor I got today.
  9. Anyone got some suggestions? MacBook 12" is no longer considered due to lack of ports. I'm on the fence with the MateBook X as it's got USB-C without thunderbolt. Not sure how much bandwidth is left if I connect a 1440p60hz monitor to it. MacBook Pro 13 looks like a solid computer, but I'm not sure if it will satisfy my ears.
  10. I'm looking for a silent/fanless ultrabook to replace/complement my Lenovo Miix 700 fanless windows tablet. So far I've found three laptops which fits my requirements: Surface Pro i5 model (fanless) Huawei Matebook X (i5, fanless) Macbook 12" I do not plan on gaming. The most demanding task will be some light photo editing (mostly just raw converting, adjusting exposure etc). Any suggestions? I'd rather have a fanless machine which throttles a bit than a laptop with a fan.
  11. So I just sold one of my cameras to fund an RX 480.. but which one to I choose? The ones that are within my price range are XFX Radeon RX 480 RS 4GB - 268$ Sapphire Nitro+ RX 480 4GB - 280$ I'm the kind of guy that get very annoyed and tired of noise, so I'm a bit concerned about these "cheap" cards. The MSI Gaming X version is 317$ and I would rather not spend that much. Alternatively I could afford a higher-end RX 470 like the MSI RX 470 Gaming X 4GB for 162$
  12. Are those screenshots? I can't see any obvious faults with the gradient. I can get "blocky" gradients in the dark areas with my monitor and I'm fairly sure it's due to an 8-bit panel
  13. Alright, thanks. I guess I'll wait until I can afford a 480 then.
