I currently need help making scripts for a citizens NPC. I have tried tutorials, but I can't seem to retain the information. Could someone with experience help me in creating a script? What I want is a custom NPC behavior that will cause an NPC to attack mobs.

Ok. It does seem like it would make sense for less strain on network or processor though. That is kind of unfortunate.
