  1. The Magedok started as a kickstarter but there are barely any reviews about it so not sure how much they improved since the reviews... The Asus one looks good indeed, I wouldn't mind spending the 500€ on it as long as it comes from a trusted reseller, only this one available close to Spain: https://www.ldlc.com/es-es/ficha/PB00325202.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjw4dr0BRCxARIsAKUNjWRHgeVS202bM0BNnzMuYNcVU-H8V2d5VwaRH1I990IHnb5GJP6PZmsaAnmFEALw_wcB
  2. I've seen some youtube reviews about two monitors i'm interested: https://magedok-shop.myshopify.com/collections/portable-monitor/products/17-3-inch-2k-qhd-120hz-ips-usb-c-with-pd-fast-charge-portable-monitor-m173a https://www.amazon.es/dp/B07QQKGLTB/?coliid=I1LNVNLW7UB9SC&colid=K2RAIP76PL67&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it The G-STORY one seems to be only available in Spain (where I'm from). The requirements I'm looking for: -1440p -17.3 inches or over -freesync -over 120hz I'd go with the Magedok as it's IPs and TN stinks... but is there any other option around?
  3. Ah, thats just right. didn't fall on that. In fact I do have power tools and some skills to work either wood or metal so I could make a case of my liking, its definitely an option indeed. They are big and modular indeeed, but not modular in the way I'd like them to be. I actually have the Fractal Design Define R5, I bought it when it launched, this modularity is a bit closer to what I've been looking for instead of the BeQuiet ones. Even tough the Define R5 does not fit 2x thick 360 rads it could fit one 360 on the top and one 240 on the front but it would STARVE for air since if you place a rad on the front you block the bottom from installing a fan, its a weird case for water cooling. What mocks me the most is that installing a top rad would force the CPU 8 pin connectors to be bent in such a way that the connector might break the custom cables.
  4. Hi guys, I've spent a while in the last weeks looking for a case that suits my needs but I haven't found the one. Requirements: PSU must be on another chamber because: I want that spot for another fan as intake Cleaner cable management Positive or neutral airflow There must be more or same amount of fans on intake than exhaust Must fit two 360 rads will be exhaust in PULL configuration Will install good fan filters on the intakes to prevent dust on rads I do not need any drive/ssd bays since I'm all NVMe's. Optional: I don't mind if it has RGB, ill strip it off anyway since I hate it. I don't care if it has glass/plastic/mesh panels, after so much searching... Motherboard I/O Ports on the top (facing up) like Thermaltake Tower 900 Details: I'm building a custom loop and I want to fit 2x 60mm 360 thick rads. Why EK? Check it out here. The fans of choice will be Noctua's NF-A12x25, here´s why. Is an ATX build. Digging for info: Lian Li O11 (doesn't fit two thick rads) 1 rad goes on top but the other one cannot go on the bottom as it blocks motherboard I/O if the other rad goes on the front, it gets blocked by the top rad doesn´t fit on the motherboard chamber with fans on the secondary chamber as exhaust Corsair 1000D (I could live with the PSU below motherboard but...) has some non-removable bays which I don't like cases this airy catch a lot of dust in my area most features I won't need, but would be "futureproof" Caselabs SMA8 - out of stock Overall something like O11 but a little bit wider to fit a rad on the side, or a little bit taller so the rads don't conflict would be great. I'm still looking for cases...
  5. did you even read the topic? He is looking for an 1U solution... Dynatrons aren't really a solution, best you can do is use this Noctua low profile without the fan as it won't fit in the case, and add these noctua 40mm fans along the chassis, connected to a hub and to the CPU fan header. I have 3x 1U servers with this setup, all 65W and this works great, but I use 10x 40mm fans. They are silent and the CPU does not go above 70ºC even at 100% usage for days.
  6. We did this recently in the company im working for. So, there are some options: 1. If the bios is Soldered to the motherboard you have to desolder the chip and clean the pins/lanes of solder so they dont make contact one with another. Do you have a microscope, precise solder, hot air station but more importantly soldering skills? 2. If ur lucky and the chip is not soldered, you will have to buy exactly the same chip from ebay/whatever and use a programmer to load your custom bios. These programmers are cheap but you can make a custom one for your needs with an arduino. You might need microscope or a magnifying glass to read properly the chip model number.
  7. Not for my needs, I'd like to see, someday, the option to purchase an X brand laptop without any hard drive installed... that will never happen unless you go for some resellers like Xotic pc, funny thing is they "charge" for removing the default drive and placing the one you want.
  8. I'd go for Clevo (with its resellers) mainly because you can customize everything, if the reseller allows it, you can even get it without RAM / Disk and install your own, this is a big plus for me since I don't need the crappy HGST drive
  9. Just avoid Lenovo at any costs, they are mostly known for their installed bloatware collecting data without you knowing it. Funny thing is, once I used BitDefender to look for viruses on a friend's pc's and it found the bloatware as virus/spy. If I went to send the virus to the quarantine the laptop would not boot up anymore lol.... Lenovo has been caught more than 3 times with this kind of behaviour.
  10. Indeed, when looking at Sager, Eluktronics and any other, these are resellers, they just take Clevo barebones and pre-configure them how they want or allow you to configure them yourself. So when looking for the reviews, don't look for the reseller model name, look for the Clevo model. The difference between Clevo resellers is their support, if you are from Europe take a look at obsidian-pc , been dealing with them recently and I think they are the best Clevo resellers in europe, if outside Europe take a look at hidevolution . It is best to look for a reseller that will delid and/or repaste your CPU using liquid metal for lower temperatures.
  11. Maybe you can get away with this: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-i3-6100U-Windows-ES1-572-31KW/dp/B01J42JPL4/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1493890474&sr=1-2&keywords=i3+laptop Just amazon search for: i3 laptop
  12. I sent them a message and they said that the cooling on the 775 is improved enough by them, liquid metal TIM, polish and lap, etc... it is more than enough to cool both the cpu and gpu. Thanks for your reply, I'll be going with the 775, its also a bit smaller
  13. Thanks for your reply, really appreciate it, no matter how much research I do it is never enough... I've taken a look at ObsidianPC and I found that the P870KM1-G on Obsidian does not offer the option to pick 1070, only 1070 SLI, I don't need anything above 1070. Which is weird because the P870KM1-G on Xotic pc does allow this option, however as I am from europe i'd prefer to stick with ObsidianPC. I've been looking at the Obsidian P775DM3-G which does offer the 1070 but I've read that the cooling on the P775DM3 is not as strong as on P870KM1, specially for a 7700K (review link) but I am not sure if the unit in the review comes with delided and sanded CPU... What do you recommend me to do... maybe wait a bit more to get the P870KM1-G with 1080 even tough I don't need it or get the P775DM3 and trust that sanding and delidding would do much better?
  14. I'm looking for an custom Clevo 870 and I'm interested in one of the 2 below: xoticpc malibal I'd rather go with the one on Malibal because I can pick the keyboard layout I want (different from english), an option I did not find on xoticpc and another reason is that Malibal has better shipment options for Europe. Apart from this... I fail to understand Malibal's naming for the laptop models... The model on Malibal is: LX 870DM while the one on xoticpc is: P870KM1-G Looking at the official clevo laptop models naming I can indeed find in the list the P870KM1-G but not the LX 870DM, in fact, there is not even 870DM listed. Searching for more about this, I've found a review here. It seems that the 870DM uses Z170 chipset. While the 870KM1 uses Z270, info here. Am I missing something? 1. Why would Malibal use Z170 chipset with the 7700k? I mean its possible but, why arent they using Z270? 2. Whats wrong with the LX before 870DM and why isnt 870DM listed in the official Clevo website? Is it outdated? 3. Has anyone managed to get custom layout from xoticpc? The only "international" option seems to be: Power Cords.
  15. Thats the right thing to do lol, i'm glad they are willing to replace it. Thanks for the update, will get my loop with EK now as I'm feeling more comfortable about the leaks
