  1. it's possible, yes. That could be what the E is for. However I have heard from different people that they can get a max of 4.6GHz on this on. Frankly I would've been happy with 4.0
  2. Oh crap. That board is older than 6 months. Do you think if I were to find a bios version from like 2016 that it would help?
  3. I used the driver CD that came with the board. Do you think it could be out of date? I never considered it would be anything software of firmware related. I'll look into what it will take to flash the bios, although that is something I have never done and am a bit weary of doing so.
  4. Hey, I have built a computer using the Asus AURA 970 motherboard. The motherboard has a m.2 slot on it, but I just cant seem to understand what's going on here. I have tried 2 different m.2 ssds that were listed as compatible on PCpartpicker. However, anytime I plug anything in there, the bios does not detect it. My specs are: -AMD FX-8320e -16GB DDR3 RAM -Sapphire RX-480 8G The SSD that I am attempting to use is Transcend 128GB SATA III 6Gb/s MTS400 (https://www.amazon.com/Transcend-128GB-MTS400-Solid-TS128GMTS400/dp/B00KLTPUU0) I have tried an adapter, but that didn't work. At one point I had a Samsung SSD that I put in that slot, but that also didn't do anything. This is my first go at M.2, so it is very possible that I am doing something wrong in setting it up. I wanted to used this as a boot drive for lightning fast boot times. Thanks
  5. Hello, Not too long ago I built my second gaming rig because my laptop pretty much died. I used an old FX-8320E processor running at 3.2 GHz stock. I have tried many different solutions to overclock it but it just wont go past 3.75 GHz. Here's my specs: -FX-8320E -16GB 1888MHz DDR3 ram -RX 480 8GB graphics card -Asus 970 AURA gaming motherboard -CX-750 PSU -Freezer 13 CPU air cooler It's a low budget build but overall does the job. I Have gotten it as high as 3.9GHz without a crash but its pretty unstable. At 4GHz it won't power on at all. I've set the voltage to 1.35 so it's not that. I have sufficient cooling that never gets my CPU past 53C, so it's not a problem with heat. It simply just wont overclock. Let me know if I am doing this wrong, as I have only started overclocking CPUs with this rig.
  6. Hey everyone. About a year ago I found an HP ProLiant ML350 G6 server in my neighborhood that someone was literally just giving away. $0 later I have it in my garage. That was a year ago, back when I had extra space for it. But now I am in an apartment with much less space. Currently it is my living room unplugged "serving" as an end table with a lamp on it -.- The specs are: intel xeon E5xxx (I don't actually remember the exact model) 16GB DDR3 ECC memory windows 10pro x64 one 750Watt removable power supply somewhere in the neighborhood of 2.5 TB of server grade HDDs that I spent money out of pocket for. The machine does have a raid controller and 8 drive bay, but I don't think it works because it wont read any drives in it. I'm pretty sure this is why previous owner abandoned it. I've tried making it into a NAS, but it went largely unused. I've tried making it into a work computer but it was the least bit practical I haven't tried gaming on it, but I would need a secondary PSU just for the graphics card because the stock PSU doesn't have a 6 pin header. I would need to make an adapter cable that utilized the unused drive bay power for the graphics card. I don't need a webserver, or a game streaming computer. I don't edit videos I don't deal with encrypted data and I have no need to serve more than just my 2 gaming rigs. It weighs a whole lot so it would cost too much to ship it if I were to sell it on ebay. Also it sounds like a jet engine and takes about 15 minutes for it to finally load windows. So tell me. What should I do with this thing? It's a relatively strong platform, but with little upgrade room. It's practically spotless inside and out. Let me know what you think. Does this thing have any use?
