oops, couldn't switch off high and in trying to fix it managed to deleted the ryzen plan edit: found the download will see if it has any effect I was indeed I knew I used something for it in the past but could never remember what it was, turns out it was hidden under a dropdown all this time, thanks. Seems like its windows defender but I recall it ever locking a thread at 100% before.

windows high That makes sense. Where do I go about doing that. I've never done any cpu overclocking in the past, or present for that matter. Edit: Seems as though one core/thread is "stuck" at 100% not sure whyd that'd be I don't have much open

Found my issue. My power plan had max usage at 99% which locked me to base clock. But now im noticing some other odd things, but they may not be solvable with the current setup. my idle clock is higher then my load clock, idle around 4.2ghz, 55c and under load at 4.0ghz, 81c. and my cpu fan is noticeably louder at these clocks and tempts which is what initially prompted me to edit the power plan, the noise it self isnt a major deal but its the occasional ramping that gets to me.

Tried earlier and again now, doesn't seem to have any effect. I'm going to try resetting cmos to see if they has any effect.

ran cbr15 a few times never got above 66, stayed at 3.7ghz and 1.1v

yea I ran cinebench and ryzen master stress. I havent changed anything in bios except for enabling and since disabled DOCP or w/e but I'll give resetting a shot

3900x in asus b450-f stuck at 3.7ghz. Tried enabling and disabling things in bios as suggested from time this was asked in the past but nothing helped. It was find the other day and would go up above 4.

playing modded so both of those arent really options. playing normal minecraft i last a little longer with 2gb allocated so I'm going to run a memtest later to see if my ram is dead. Are there other memory tests I should try?

too add a bit. java was using 8gb of ram while allocated 5gb in comparability for win 7 everything went black after a bit of time graphic card runs fine in furmark for 4 minutes(40x normal amount of time before crash in mc) lowered max fps from unlimited to 150, no change.

both java and windows are 64bit

Started playing minecraft recently and I crash constantly. I thought maybe it was modded being buggy but it happens in normal mc too. I've tried everything I can think of. fixed all regedit issues through ccleaner, reinstalled java, change a bunch of setting, fiddle with ram allocation, looking in reliability monitor or w.e and googled with what little info it gave me. Idk what else to include but if anyone has suggests I'm all ears.

Always come full circle back to air coolers. I want liquid for the looks but leaking scares the shit out of me and the DPR4 and DP4 seem like they are about as quiet with similar temps(compared to the 240ex), obviously this depends on the system. Clearance gets pretty close with them both. Only thing I don't like about tower coolers is covering my ram. Why can't life be easy. FWP

I do, was looking at the h100i v2. but not sure if its worth with all the cons. and it gets pretty close to the price of the a240(a240 would take more work to fit in, dont have a ton of extra space). I always conflict myself .I wanna one and done something nice, but I don't wanna empty my wallet.

pretty sure default config is dual exhaust which is good for gpu but not cpu. I wanted AIO for looks but they arent worth it for performance, sound, etc. might try ek's a240 custom loop kit, but its a bit expensive. Then theres the dark rock pro 4 which is easy and good but takes away from the look and covers my ram.

stock, ~22c prob, nxzt h50 stock fan setup, might try moving them both to intakes, cant remember what the best setup was for cpu Disabled auto RS and updated bios, we'll see what happens, hopefully it was something simple and stupid.

the update was so long ago and i didn't have issues, or at least any consistent ones for a long time, I don't recall if the install was fresh or not. When it happens again I'll try to get the error code before it auto restarts. Also for got to add after the BS a percent rolls through, like an update or repair, then after restart brings me a "Select boot device, press any key" screen. And even 50C avg at almost idle is fine? Not sure how hot ryzen is but that seems a little high, even for stock cooler.

Started having very frequent BSOD's ~2/day the past 2 or 3 days and a few spread across the previous week also just had two non BSOD crashes just to black screen with power and no response from any input. Most recently Hardware change was a case upgrade so if lose cables can cause BSOD it may be that, i checked a few with no sign of it being the issue. My ryzen also runs quite hot, I'm not sure what idle temps should be but they sit around 40-50 and take a long time to drop after hard use. Planning on upgrading cooler just not sure to what yet. W10 64bit win7 1year or longer ago but has had numerous hardware upgrade since then Not retail or OEM?
