  1. Thanks for the suggestions but I ended up coming up with a decision. I ended up going with the ASUS ZenBook UX430UN with Intel Core i7-8550U, 512GB SSD, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA MX150 Graphics. I was lucky enough to stumble upon it on amazon and almost immediately I knew it was perfect. It has an i7, mx150, 500 gig ssd, 16 gigs of ram and a 14" display which is everything I wanted. Also, lucky for me, I was able to find it was sold by Costco for $200 cheaper than it was listed for on amazon so it was only $1,000 in total (before taxes of course). Anyway I'm happy with my purchase and thank you for the suggestion.
  2. I have noticed that there are indeed many more options with 15.6" displays but I don't know whether I should be looking for one. As I said in my post i'll mainly be using the laptop for school and I think 15.6 is just a bit too big for me. My current one is indeed 15.6" and I can say it's not THAT bad but it would be nice for a smaller macbook esc laptop. But my main complaint of the bigger laptops is probably the weight. If there is a reasonably lightweight laptop with a 15.6" display I would definitely think about it.
  3. Hello, I'm currently looking for a new laptop for mostly schoolwork but can also do a bit of gaming and video editing. I currently have a custom built desktop as my main gaming platform but I'm looking for a laptop to bring to school but also has the capability of playing some games. My current laptop is not doing to well, I currently have an HP envy m6-n012dx which is now probably 4 years old. When I first got it, it was my only form of playing games even though it only has integrated graphics since I had no idea about computers at the time. But now the laptop it is just a pain, it's pretty heavy so it's not the best on my back if I carry it for a while, one of its hinges is damaged and the q (I had to copy and paste that) key does not work. So I'm looking to upgrade. Budget: ~$1,000 to $1,500 What I'm looking for: GPU/APU able to play CS:GO 1080p with >60fps (Or something around that) Smaller screen, preferably 13.3"-14" Thinner than most gaming laptops Lighter than most gaming laptops Minimum of 8 gigs of ram, preferably 16 gigs Minimum of 4 core cpu SSD, preferably 256 gigs What I have seen that fits: ASUS UX331UN-WS51T-BL ZenBook (Currently out of stock on amazon) $999 Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3 - 8GB + 256GB + GEFORCE MX150 (Only on Gearbest) $899.99 on sale Razer Blade Ultra 14" - Core i7-7700HQ, 16GB RAM, 512TB SSD, GeForce GTX 1060 $1,515.19 for a, used - like new, one All of these options fit most of what I am looking for, but I don't know which I should pull the trigger on. Currently the Asus zenbook is out of stock on amazon and I have no idea when it will be back, other than that I would be fine with it. The Xiaomi Mi notebook air looks very good to me but the problem is that I live in the US and buying from a Chinese manufacturer does not seem like the best idea. Finally the Razer blade looks appealing but is a bit high for my price range. If anyone owns the options I have mentioned I would like to hear what you think of them. If you recommend any other laptops I would love to hear them even if it doesn't fill EVERY requirement I have listed. Thank you for the advice!
  4. Hi thanks for helping! I'll start with the my internet usage. I'm currently using Ethernet and sometimes a small usb wifi adapter if necessary and I have noticed when I boot up, my Ethernet isn't working therefore I have to restart. But I don't personally think it is part of the crashing problem since the Ethernet connection problem has only been happening recently. Lastly I did end up reinstalling the Ethernet drivers just yesterday and no problems yet. Next I wanted to say that I have tried the uninstalling of graphics drivers and reinstalling them many times and found no success after doing so. But just yesterday I got a new graphics card from my friend (his old 980ti) and so far no problems with it. If anything I hope that my new graphics card is how to stop these crashes. Lastly the reinstall of windows and memtest, I have done both of these already and had no success. Last time I did a reinstall of windows was shortly after Christmas when I got my new mobo and the thing is the crashing was happening before that. And the last time I did memtest was probably February because the crashing kept happening and it did find that some sticks were corrupted but sadly I forgot to take a picture of the error but I'm pretty sure I got rid of the right ones since after that I've used the windows memory test and it found no problems. I haven't done memtest since because it took almost a whole day to do one scan. Hopefully the new graphics card will be the fix but if not I'll make sure to update you.
  5. Hello, I have just done what you asked for both the Application and System Event Logs but I only have the application event log in this comment since it would not let me post both so I will make a another comment with the system event log for you to check out. Thanks for the help! Application Event Log.evtx Edit- For some reason I am not able to upload the system log into a comment since it says I can't upload more than 20 MB of media so I decided I'll just upload it to dropbox for you to see https://www.dropbox.com/s/o1uehbb428y9fv9/System Event Log.evtx?dl=0
  6. Hey, Syncrosys. Thanks for the reply. As per request, I attached some of the more common errors I've been getting from Event Viewer. To be honest, I'm not sure exactly which logs would be most helpful to provide, but I tried to be thorough. Maybe it's just the software I run, but if there's something wrong with my PC that you can tell from these logs, that'd be very useful. Thank you! 7. If you don't already have it installed, install Geforce Experience. Somewhere in the settings there is an option called "Battery Boost" or something like that. From there you can either change the frame rate it limits it to on battery or completely turn it off. If not that, then check Vsync settings in your games or Geforce control panel.
  8. Ever since I built my PC, which was several months ago, it's been very unstable. This includes both application crashes and BSOD. As the attached screen grab indicates, my PC has been crashing and having errors much more than normal. More importantly, I've attached reports of my PC's BSOD by both Sysnative BSOD Collection App and Blue Screen View. From what I can tell, it seems like there are a lot of kernel errors. Besides these blue screens, I get a lot application crashes as well. It seems possible that I have a hardware issue, but I have been experimenting with the possibility that some of my RAM is corrupt for a while, but I've swapped different sticks in and out many times and I think I've gotten rid of any corrupt memory. However, I'm still open to the idea that it's my RAM. Any solutions or ideas are appreciated. Thanks! Edit: I ran the Windows memory diagnostic tool and it came back with no errors found. So, it's probably not a memory issue. SysnativeFileCollectionApp.zip BSOD Logs.txt
