  1. I have attempted to setup a nas on a old xeon but have had nothing but problems. It sometimes will boot Nas4Free sometimes won't. Ideally i wanted FreeNas on it but it will never boot as it does this and as you can see for some reason it is distorted and i am just fed up of this thing. If it needs a new processor and main board does anyone have any recommendations as well
  2. ok, do you have any idea on good nas hardware as this one seems to be broken now which is good. need a cheap motherboard and proccessor but have got the rest
  3. I have tried Nas4Free and it works perfect booted on a usb of on a ssd. One thing i was wondering is how does virtulization work?
  4. Would you install it on a usb or SSD. I have a ssd for it and i have bought a internal usb header so either works for me just wondering which you think is better as i'm not used to nas i normarly run cent os lol.
  5. I have gone on the forums like you sugested and am following the guides on there if not i will try what you said as i am sure that will work
  6. I've just found a case on promotion for £15. Its a BitFenix Nova computer case don't know if it is any good if not going to go with the rosewill and pay the £30.00 import. I am trying nas4free again now it looks ideal will update this thread once ive figured it out lol.
  7. I've just had a look at the rosewill cases but are they only avalible in the US? When I search they all have to be imported
  8. OK I will have another look on there
  9. Thanks for your reply I will have a loot at them case's. So you know how you get the xigma nas onto a USB as rifus won't except the ISO and when I load the img file with win32diskimg it won't boot from it
  10. I have built a nas in a Fujitsu P2560 case and using the orginal 250w power supply but have replaced it with a intel DQ45CB motherboard, a Intel xeon X3320, 8GB of DDR2 RAM and a 120GB ssd aswell as 4 4TB WD Reds. I want to run Pi-hole it as a nas storage server aswell as be able to run a 2 or 3 vm's for Pi-hole and various other programs. Does anyone have any recomendations on a NAS OS which i can run on it. I have tried FreeNas but it will only start once and then will go into error mode on reboot. It also needs to be cheap (Less than £15) or free as I do not have much money to spend on the OS and got the drives for free. Also does anyone have any recommendations for a case. It is a ATX power supply with a Micro ATX main board. Only needs to hold 4 3,5" drives and 1 2.5" and needs to be less than £50 (85 CAD, 65 USD) Thanks for any answers provided. Update: I have purchased a cheap case i got for £15 so am going to give it a try and send it back if it is no good:
  11. Hi, thanks for your reply I dont mind paying a bit more but it depends if o2 would be willing to upgrade past that. Thanks Jake
  12. I recently got a brand new oneplus 5t which was a replacement for a faulty oneplus 5 which was a replacement for a faulty oneplus 3t. This oneplus 5t has gone faulty with speaker and power problems so I'm going to send it back but I don't know what phone to get.Its a shame because I really like the oneplus devices but they are always faulty when I get one. I want something just as fast with an 18:9 screen and NFC with at least 64gb of storage and it has to be less than £650. And is updated frequently with software updates. Has anyone got any suggestions.
  13. Hi, Thanks for your reply. I've been looking and all the cases seem quite flimsy. I stuck with oneplus becuase the 3t worked until the battery went and o2 replaced it with a refurbished oneplus 5 and o2 are not the best at refurbishing lol
  14. I've herd that the connection is sometimes a bit unreliable and that logitech has a more stable connection but i couldn't tell you for definite
  15. Hi, i called cosair wondering the same thing and they told me the same thing and that rgb is stored on the pc not on the headset so will only display the default colours.
