  1. I own an extended mousepad that works great for my needs, but the only thing I wish it had is Qi charging for when I put my phone next to the keyboard. Do you guys think buying a Qi charging coil and strapping it under the mousepad could work? Could there be any safety concerns like maybe... fire hazard? Thanks in advance!
  2. So theoretically, I just buy the NXZT (cause it has very long tubes) and cut it to size? It's worth a shot... only 20 bucks
  3. I have a Fractal Design Celsius S24 liquid cooler and have been wanting to purchase the new cablemod sleeving kit for AIOs but couldn't find a specific kit for my unit. Is there anything that prevents me from cutting the sleeve to size so it can fit my cooler? Maybe there's a reason they list the ones a specific kit works with. Thanks in advance
  4. Hi, I'm having some troubles with EVGA PrecisionXOC and the 1080 Ti I own. It turns out I've set a profile with some custom overclock for mining, but the second I drop the load on the card (by closing the miner), the software automatically changes the profile and reverts to default settings. Sometimes my internet disconnects for a few minutes and then comes back on its own, but because it stops mining during that period of time and the load drops, the card changes to default. When my internet comes back, my card continues mining but does it so in an unoptimal way (because it didn't keep the overclock). Is there any way I can fix this? It isn't supposed to change without me wanting to.
  5. Is a 1070 / 1070 Ti / 1080 worth buying in late 2017 or should I wait for something better that's just around the corner? I want to play some AAA games during the holidays (Live in Argentina), initially in 1080p but planning to buy a 1440p 165 Hz monitor later on.
  6. I wanna buy the 34UC98-W which has FreeSync (all other ultrawides are incredibly expensive where I live so I really cannot afford any other model). The 3440x1440 resolution and 21:9 aspect ratio ultimately sold me for the use I'll be giving to it. But I also casually game, and since AMD's latest GPU offerings suck hard (and don't seem to be getting better any time soon) and the monitor has a limited 55 - 75 Hz FreeSync range, I was wondering if it would still work if you downscaled the monitor to 2560x1080 just for gaming, using an RX 580 or the upcoming Vega 32. And if it did, what would that range be.
  7. New ASUS ultrawide will either nlt be available altogether or cost a fortune here in Arg sadly. So no 3440x1440 and 200hz for me
  8. So I live in Argentina, a land where hardware prices (and prices in general) are through the roof when compared to Amazon.com for example. I've been saving for a new monitor for quite a while and since there aren't many available to begin with (or if they are, you have to fork out a ton of money to buy them), the decision has come down to only 2 enticing options and I'm counting on you to help me decide: ASUS PG279Q vs. LG 34UC98-W (I left out the PG348Q cause it's a lot more expensive than the 16:9 27" counterpart). I should also mention that I'm a bit of a gamer, but don't play FPS games that often since adventure, survival horror and exploring type of games are more of my thing. The way I see it, one has an insanely high refresh rate and boasts G-Sync and 1440p for a great gaming experience and movie watching, but you need a 1080 or 1080 Ti to really drive the monitor, making it more expensive overall if you want to enjoy the specs to its full potential. The other one only has 75 Hz of refresh rate, but it's 3440x1440, has an incredible color gamut and is a 34" curved ultrawide which kinda tickles my fancy as Jay would say, so it would be better for productivity and just looking extra cool on my desk. I would also save some cash on the GPU purchase since it wouldn't be as demanding to run (but since it has FreeSync I'm left out of the Nvidia upgrade cycle for future graphics card generations altoghether and risk having screen tearing). I've never had much experience with any of the specs (ultrawide format or high refresh rate) so all feedback and opinions are welcomed.
  9. I recently built a PC with the intention of using it as a small office server for transfering files and accesing data remotely. Specs: Core i5 7500 H270 MoBo 32 GB RAM 2x 1 TB HDD's in RAID 1 1x 128 GB SSD for the OS and cacheing The question is whether I'll have any trouble or unexpected issues using Windows Server 2008, since the software and network guy only has licenses for Win Server 2008 and he's the one who is gonna set up the whole deal.
  10. Simple and to the point: Is a Seasonic S12 520W ii enough for a Ryzen 5 1600 + Zotac AMP! GTX 1080? I'll also have one SSD and a 3 TB hard drive. Thanks
  11. RX 580's are pretty power hungry. And you're setting 2 in crossfire, so I'd say no less than 700W so you can be on the comfortable side and have some wattage headroom for overclocking or simply better efficiency/ having the fan not turn on during load. Try to get a quality PSU like the G2/G3 series from EVGA (or GQ if your budget is not as high), Seasonic X-850, Corsair RM 850, etc. You're safe with a minimum of 650W if it's 80 Plus Gold or higher, but I'd recommend a higher wattage PSU even if your system won't consume all that energy because you'll have better efficiency overall, and take advantage of the fan not turning on/ spinning at low RPM all the time. The Seasonic one I mentioned is one of the best PSU's you can buy and recommend it 10/10. I've own one for a year and it has been amazing.
  12. My dad has plenty of tools and expertise. Plus I can't return it cause they're out of stock and I would have to migrate the entire system (which took me 8 hours to assemble due to all the small cables needed for the AER RGB fans and cable management in general) I'll let you know how it goes
  13. They look great, but I live in Argentina and sadly they don't allow much imported products. However I just realized the shroud is bent because they bolted if from the outside at a lower level from the left, so I think I can remove the existing bolt, level it up and bolt it again. Do you think it could work?
  14. The cutout is uneven from the left side, like its in some diagonal position instead of plain flat. I could try to straighten it, have any suggestions on how I could do that?
  15. Hey guys, I recently finished this build and realized the PSU shroud is kind of uneven from the left side, like the steel frame is a little lower on the left side compared to the right side. I could ask for a replacement but honestly need the PC working and took me a while to install the AER RGB fans (which are a pain in the ass to cable manage btw) so I'd rather not switch to another case for the time being. Anyone suggest a fix to level the PSU cutout like it's shown in the picture?
