  1. So it would be the same if I get the "non" pro version?: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008E3M4QS/ It's actually cheaper and runs at 1600MHZ 1.5V but the latency is CL10 instead of CL9. At least I know for sure this will be 100% compatible with my CPU/Motherboard.
  2. Hello guys! I'm looking to upgrade my RAM from 2x4GB of Corsair Vengeance (DDR3 1600MHZ) to 2x8GB, preferably Corsair (DDR3 1600MHZ), and found these two kits: * Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3L DRAM 1600MHZ C9 1.35V Kit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0123ZAWHA/ * Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 DRAM 1600MHZ C9 1.5V Kit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D5XAN06/ However, I'm in doubt since the DDR3L 1.35V kit is cheaper than the DDR3 1.5V kit right now. I would like to know: * ¿The DDR3L 1.35V kit will be compatible with my ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO and my i7 4790K?. I'm not sure since the motherboard site don't mention DDR3L and the CPU site mentions DDR3L 1.5V, not DDR3L 1.35V. * ¿The DDR3L kit will run at 1600MHZ using 1.35V, or they will just run at a lower frecuency or at 1600MHZ using 1.5V in case they are not fully compatible? If this gets complicated, maybe I will opt to get the DDR3 kit instead of the DDR3L kit in order to avoid the hassle and just use it at 1600MHZ 1.5V with XMP as my current kit works. Looking forward to your comments. Kind regards,
  3. I was asking just because I'm not sure if It will worth the upgrade, since I'm ok playing at 1440p at the moment and I've had no performance issues with the games I've played so far. It's just all those recomendations of 16GB over 8GB that are driving me nuts! haha
  4. Hello guys, Just a quick question: ¿Will my 2x4GB (8GB) DDR3 RAM @ 1600MHz will bottleneck in any way my i7 4790k and GTX 1080 at some point?, or am I ok for a decent time till I have some money to get 16GB? I use my rig just for gaming. Nothing related to rendering or that kind of stuff. Also, I'm not having performance issues but I'm just wondering since everybody recommends 16GB of RAM these days. Kind regards!
  5. Oh I just called it "enthusiast" because of all the effort, money and time i've put on this baby, and what it means to me. Yeah! I'm hoping this rig will chew some games for a little more time. The color scheme is something I really wanted to do.
  6. Thanks for your feedback! I surely will. Maybe next week I will just get all the cables out and do the cable management again to improve it. This is something I planned but I guess I've been lazy. Man, I'm loving that desk too! Sadly I already sold those 970s, and very cheap btw.
  7. I've had this rig for some time now, but recently I upgraded some of the components so I wanted to post some pictures here since I've been a big fan of LinusTechTips. Sorry for these bad quality pictures but I'll upload better ones as soon as I get a decent camera. I had 2 GTX 970 on SLI, the stock cooler for my i7 4790k and just 4 SP120 high pressure fans plus 3 stock fans that came with the case, so I decided to buy a single GTX 1080 to get some more juice of my 1440p 144hz GSYNC monitor, the Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler to replace that stock CPU cooler and 3 more SP120 high pressure fans to replace those stock case fans. Also, I added a 5TB HDD for backup purposes, a hot swap mobile rack for that HDD and some light with a NZXT 2 metres LED kit as a final touch. Last but not least, I've got a new desk made by my dad because with the old desk I had no space for the new z506 speakers I bought. You can check the full part list on the following link: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/MYcYcf This info is also on my signature.
  8. Hello! I just registered and wanted to say hi. I've been a big fan of LinusTechTips for a long time. Also, I would like to know where I can put some pictures of mi rig since I recently upgraded it and I would like to get some opinions. Looking forward to your answer. Kind regards,
