Premier Pro Mercury Playback

I have a Asus laptop with a i7-6700HQ and a GTX 960M. I have been using Permier Pro CC 2017 on it for some time now and I have been missing the use of the mercury playback from the graphics card. I can only run the software only mercury playback. I have tried adding the text file to the adobe folder. The weird part of this is that After Effects see this GPU and I can use it if I check the use unsoported card. My normal enditing rig is a desktop with a quadro so I am able to use the mercury playback with no weird work around. Any suggestions or comments would be helpful. Thank You

GTX1080 & Quadro K2200

Does using a GTX1080 along with a Quadro K2200 make any difference in video editing and graphics creating with the Adobe Suite? The computer set up would a be i7-6850K, 64GB DDR4, Samsung 850 Pro. The rest is up in the air as for specific parts. My main question, is would using dual graphic help with any performance or just end up eating up some of the power bill and creating more heat?
