  1. Hello Guys, i'm in charge of searching for a new laptop for my mum and until now I haven't found anything that suits perfectly. To make it short: -The laptop never leaves the living room so no weight limitation (a charger is also always near) -Most usecases are; light excel work, e-mail and web surfing/streaming My suggestion would be something like this: Display: 17" FHD or better Processor: i3 or i5 (equal amd is fine) Storage: SSD only with about 500gb (4 year old laptop has used about 320gb) Dedicated graphic card is not necessary Price up to 700€ = 860$ All the laptops i found started at 1000€ so I hope for a few suggestions from you Thanks in advance Felix
  2. Thanks for the fast replys! i chose the expensive case just because i liked it and the black and blue colour scheme is with me since long ago (my mountainbike and helmet etc. are black and blue to). but saving 40€ is good too. I'm going to add a 128GB SSD to your solution for windows even if that breaks my budget. I like the backlit keyboard! Never heard of that brand before. Thanks for the help see you racing!
  3. Hello everyone, as a former Playstaytion Gamer I want to build my first PC, but my money and knowledge is limited. (as an engineering student I currently work at 450€ a month) Next thing is I don't even have peripherals yet so I'm open for every option. 1080p gaming with mid to high settings is enough for me (at the moment!). This Rig is not thought to be top of the line I want to use it mostly to play racing simulators with a steering wheel, first on one screen later maybe on three so a bit upgradeability should be given. And I don't want to buy new parts every year so I hope this is enough for a decent PC. Behind every product I'll tell you my thougts so you understand why i chose those products. I have absolutely no idea how to choose a motherboard so I hope you can help me with this. Please explain me why you changed some parts (I want to learn something) Price between 450 to 650€ please note i need peripherals too BTW I'm open to older Products and used ones as well CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.99 @ SuperBiiz) Linus told me this one is enough for gaming CPU Cooler: CRYORIG M9i 48.4 CFM CPU Cooler ($19.99 @ Newegg Marketplace) Had good recommendations Memory: Avexir Core Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($46.97 @ Jet) only one Stick to upgrade in the future (if 4 GB is enough tell me) Storage: PNY CS1311 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($64.99 @ Jet) ssd is a must have for every new pc 128gb would be ok too but the pricing was not much different Storage: Toshiba 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($67.88 @ OutletPC) at least 1TB but for 20€ more i got 2 so I got that going which is nice (1tb would be ok too) Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB OC Edition Video Card ($149.99 @ SuperBiiz) a good gpu I think Case: NZXT S340 (Black/Blue) ATX Mid Tower Case ($66.99 @ SuperBiiz) looks cool in my opinion (case should have a window) Power Supply: EVGA 450W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($38.49 @ SuperBiiz) psu from a good brand and 450W should be more than enough Total: $645.29 Thanks in advance Felix
